This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACED80X75 — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACED80X75 in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPD Double Rod Compact Cylinder ACPD80X75 is a double acting, double rod DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø80mm bore and 75mm stroke, 1/4" air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACED80X75 (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
A double acting compact cylinder with a rod leaving both covers, the ACPD80X75 delivers 2356.2 N in either direction at 0.5 MPa because both strokes work on the rod-side area. The 80 mm bore pushes or pulls 3298.7 N at 0.7 MPa, and the through-rod resists rotation and side load while the free back-end rod can carry a sensor flag. Its hard-anodized aluminium body follows the ISO 21287 short format, saving roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder.
In practice, plan on about 1414 N of usable push at 0.5 MPa, which corresponds to lifting roughly 120 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. A fixed TPU bumper sits at each end, the S45C hard-chrome rod runs at 30-500 mm/s, and pressure spans 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi). Note that this model is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is the ACED80X75, so confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACED80X75 (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Force (both ways) |
|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 2356 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 3299 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 481 kgf |
Double-rod: a rod exits both covers, so output force is equal in both directions (rod-side area used).
| ACPD | DIN compact cylinder (double-rod, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 80 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×75 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The through-rod pushes a steel bracket forward on one stroke and returns a pallet on the back rod, with 2356.2 N available identically in both directions at 0.5 MPa.
With about 120 kg of vertical lift capacity at a 2:1 margin, the 80 mm bore raises die carts in a stamping cell where the short ISO 21287 body fits under the gantry beam.
The second rod carries a flag past a CMSE switch (when the -S magnet is ordered) to confirm retract position on a carton-forming station running at 30-500 mm/s.
Size between bores: the 63 mm ACPD gives 1458.1 N at 0.5 MPa, while the 100 mm bore reaches 3681.6 N, so the 80 mm sits squarely in the mid-heavy class. If your fixture must hold position with air off, add a rod lock or pilot check - the bare cylinder drifts. FA/FB flange and LB foot mountings bolt to the ISO 21287 face, and the optional -S magnet enables CMSE / DMSE switches. This unit is discontinued; order the ACED80X75 as the current equivalent.
Replacement checklist
Being a double-rod cylinder, force is equal both ways: 2356.2 N at 0.5 MPa and 3298.7 N at 0.7 MPa, with a maximum of 480.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Both strokes use the rod-side area, so push and pull are identical. Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) with a 1.5 MPa (215 psi) proof rating.
The hard-anodized aluminium body follows the ISO 21287 short format, cutting about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, with FA/FB flange or LB foot mounting and a fixed TPU bumper at each end. The ACPD80X75 is discontinued; the current-production successor is the ACED80X75 in the same bore, stroke and force class - confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before ordering.
