About the Airtac ACPD Double Rod Compact Cylinder ACPD80X80S
Double acting with a rod exiting both covers, the ACPD80X80S delivers 2356.2 N in each direction at 0.5 MPa (3298.7 N at 0.7 MPa), because both strokes work on the rod-side area. The 80 mm bore drives a 20 mm through-rod over an 80 mm stroke, with a fixed TPU bumper at each end and speeds of 30-500 mm/s. Its hard-anodized aluminium body is an ISO 21287 compact build, roughly 50% shorter in mounting length than an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight gantries and guarding where a full-length body cannot.
For sizing, treat about 1414 N (roughly 144 kgf) as the realistic working output at 0.5 MPa, which corresponds to lifting about 120 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. The -S code on this model means the magnet is fitted, so CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches can be clamped straight onto the body for end-of-stroke sensing. Note that this model is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is the ACED80X80, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Vertical lift-and-lower lifts
With about 120 kg of vertical lift capacity at a 2:1 margin, the through-rod guides a 60-80 kg die cart platen in a stamping shop without a separate guide column.
