The AirTAC Airtac B03-3V Explosion-proof Solenoid Valve B03-3V1M5A is a genuine 3-port 2-position (3/2) solenoid valve. A 3/2 valve either feeds its outlet or vents it to exhaust, so it suits single-acting cylinders, air blow, clamping, vacuum switching and pilot duty. We stock this code and confirm its published figures from the datasheet on request.
AirTAC 3V1M5A pairs the smallest 3V1 body with an M5 port and an AC220V coil drawing just 4.5 VA. The direct-acting design needs no minimum pressure differential to shift, and the spring returns it whenever power drops, feeding or venting a single line.
That low 4.5 VA draw lets one small transformer run many valves across a machine. A DIN plug connector, IP65 (DIN 40050) sealing and a manual override keep installation and fault-finding straightforward, while the 40 um filtration requirement protects the internal clearances.

A 3/2 valve has three ports — supply, outlet and exhaust — and two states. It either feeds the outlet or vents it to exhaust, and that is the whole job.
That makes it the right valve for a single-acting (spring-return) cylinder, on/off air blow, a clamp, switching a vacuum generator or suction cup, and piloting a larger valve.
It cannot run a double-acting cylinder. A double-acting cylinder needs air alternately on two sides, which takes a 5-port valve — the AirTAC 4V series.
Actuates a small spring-return clamp cylinder that holds a machined part against a locator while it is drilled or tapped.
Supplies the pilot signal that shifts a larger main air valve in a compact control cabinet, its M5 port suiting tight manifolds.
Feeds the single-acting air cylinder that flips a diverter flap on a bottling-line conveyor, venting it between pushes.
Start from the coil: 3V1M5A is specified for AC220V at 4.5 VA, one of five coil options in the 3V1 family, alongside AC110V, AC24V, DC24V and DC12V. Then check flow honestly - no Cv is published for the 3V1, so send us the application if flow matters. Need more? Move up to the 3V2 (1/8 and 1/4 ports, NC or NO selectable, Cv 0.18-0.19, vacuum rated) or the 3V3 (1/4 port, Cv 0.62), or to the 3V2M when manifold density outranks flow. Double-acting cylinders need the 5-port 4V series instead.
The five-point match: port (M5 or 1/8), thread (PT standard; G or NPT as order options), coil voltage, electrical entry (DIN plug as here, or flying lead), and individual versus manifold mounting in 1 to 20 stations.

Pressure range 0-0.8 MPa, media temperature -20 to 70 C, and IP65 (DIN 40050) protection. This variant carries the AC220V 4.5 VA coil; family alternatives are AC110V 4.5 VA, AC24V 5.0 VA, DC24V 3.0 W and DC12V 2.5 W. There is no published Cv for the 3V1, so discuss demanding flow duties with us.
The 4.5 VA coil suits standard control-cabinet mains supplies without extra power electronics, and the DIN connector lets maintenance staff unplug the valve for service without touching the wiring. If your panel is low-voltage, the same M5 body exists with DC24V at 3.0 W or DC12V at 2.5 W.
