Pick a 3-wire PNP output when the switch feeds a PLC sink-input card - the dedicated signal wire gives a cleaner level than a 2-wire series hookup and sidesteps leakage-current issues at the input. Electronic DMS switches are DC-only, so mind polarity when wiring; a reed CMS would be the alternative if your circuit runs on AC. The 5 m flying lead can be cut back on site, or choose an M8/M12 connector variant to unplug the sensor during service.
