The AirTAC Airtac DMSG Electronic Sensor DMSG-030 is a genuine DMS magnetic position switch. It senses the magnet ring in a pneumatic cylinder's piston and signals when the piston reaches that point, giving a 2-wire output on 10-28 V DC with a 3 m flying lead. It only works on a cylinder that carries a piston magnet.
The DMSG-030 is an AirTAC electronic magnetic position switch with a 2-wire solid-state output. It clips into the sensor groove of a cylinder that carries the built-in magnet option and completes the circuit when the piston reaches it. This version ends in a 3 m flying lead, runs on 10-28 V DC and is sealed to IP64 against dust and splash.
Because the 2-wire output wires in series just like a mechanical contact, swapping it in place of a reed part is simple, though a small leakage current keeps flowing through the load even when the switch is off. The profile letter G is a fit code, not a quality grade: it has to line up with the groove on your cylinder body, so send us the cylinder series with your enquiry and we will confirm seating before you order.

2-wire versions run 10-28 V DC; NPN / PNP 3-wire versions run 5-30 V DC. IP64 as standard. Order the RW version where coolant, washdown or constant cable flexing is present. Switching distance, response time, current rating, voltage drop, LED behaviour, contact life, weight and dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

We do not hold the full profile-to-cylinder-series table, so confirm the profile letter against your cylinder model before ordering — send us the cylinder part number and we will check the fit.
The split is electrical, not quality. Solid-state DMS and EMS are DC-only and suit modern PLC inputs; the reed-based CMS switches a much wider window, so it is the one for AC circuits, relay logic and older panels. The RW (IP68) option exists on DMS and EMS only.

| Consider EMS | the mini 2-wire electronic switch for tight installations |
| Consider CMS | the reed alternative for AC circuits and voltages up to 240 V |
| Mounting parts | F-MQ (round body), F-ACT (tie-rod) |
Detects the retracted piston of stopper cylinders that index cartons on a packaging line, the 3 m tail running straight back to the local control box.
Confirms a clamp cylinder has reached full hold on a machining fixture before the CNC cycle-start signal is released.
Reports the upper and lower limit of a lift cylinder in a palletising cell so the transfer arm only moves once the mast is fully home.
Pick this electronic type when your circuit is DC and you want contact-free switching with no reed bounce and no contact wear; a reed CMS instead suits AC lines, working polarity-free from 5-240 V AC/DC. Stay with the 2-wire output for series wiring into a relay or lamp; step up to a 3-wire NPN or PNP DMS if a PLC input needs a cleaner signal. A 3 m lead beats a connector on price, while an M8 or M12 plug pays off when sensors are swapped during service. This is the general IP64 build; choose a -RW model for IP68 washdown duty. It only signals on a cylinder ordered with the magnet option, and profile G must match that cylinder's groove.
Quick checklist
Use the F-MQ bracket on round-body cylinders and F-ACT on tie-rod cylinders where there is no groove to seat the switch. Both are ordered separately from the switch. Switching distance and mounting dimensions come from the factory datasheet — ask us for the sheet that matches your cylinder.
It is an electronic (solid-state) magnetic position switch with a 2-wire output, supplied from 10-28 V DC and sealed to IP64. The connection is a 3 m flying lead. Switching current, leakage and other electrical limits are not listed here - confirm them from the datasheet.
Both are prerequisites. G is a groove-fit code, not a grade, so it must match the sensor groove on your cylinder body; and the cylinder must carry the built-in magnet option, because without a magnet there is nothing to detect. Send us the cylinder series and we will verify the fit.
