
The AirTAC Airtac DMSG Electronic Sensor DMSG-030-W is a genuine DMS magnetic position switch. It senses the magnet ring in a pneumatic cylinder's piston and signals when the piston reaches that point, giving a 2-wire output on 10-28 V DC with a 3 m flying lead. It only works on a cylinder that carries a piston magnet.
The DMSG-030-W is the general AirTAC electronic position switch in profile G, built with a 3 m flying lead and a 2-wire solid-state output rated 10-28 V DC at IP64. Like every switch in this class it senses nothing on its own - the piston of the target cylinder must be fitted with the factory magnet option.
The trailing W sits in an undocumented code position: AirTAC lists it in the catalogue, but its meaning is not published, so we treat the unit as the standard IP64 general type and will read exactly what W adds from the datasheet on request. Bear in mind too that G defines only the groove fit, which has to line up with your cylinder body.

The split is electrical, not quality. Solid-state DMS and EMS are DC-only and suit modern PLC inputs; the reed-based CMS switches a much wider window, so it is the one for AC circuits, relay logic and older panels. The RW (IP68) option exists on DMS and EMS only.

Flying-lead wiring is the economical route and can be trimmed to length on site; choose an M8/M12 connector version if maintenance staff unplug sensors regularly. This is the general type, not the -RW IP68 build, and its G profile has to seat in the sensor groove of a magnet-fitted cylinder.
