The AirTAC Airtac EMSH Electronic Sensor EMSH-050 is a genuine EMS magnetic position switch. It senses the magnet ring in a pneumatic cylinder's piston and signals when the piston reaches that point, giving a 2-wire output on 10-28 V DC with a 5 m flying lead. It only works on a cylinder that carries a piston magnet.
EMSH-050 is the long-lead version of AirTAC's mini electronic switch: a 2-wire solid-state sensor rated 10-28 V DC and IP64 in general form. It snaps into the H-profile sensor groove of a magnet-equipped AirTAC cylinder and reports piston position. The 5 m flying lead spans long cable tracks to a remote cabinet without splices or extension joints.
The supply window is 10-28 V DC, so check your power headroom against the datasheet's electrical limits before finalising the layout. Note that the H profile must match the cylinder groove, and without the cylinder's built-in magnet the switch has nothing to detect.

Every EMS is 2-wire on a 10-28 V DC supply; there is no NPN / PNP version. IP64 as standard. Order the RW version where coolant, washdown or constant cable flexing is present. Switching distance, response time, current rating, voltage drop, LED behaviour, contact life, weight and dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

| H | Profile letter: the mounting / groove type that fits a particular cylinder body. This family offers G, H. It is a fit code, not a performance grade. |
| 050 | 5 m flying lead. 020 / 030 / 050 / 100 are 2 / 3 / 5 / 10 m flying leads; M08 and M12 are M8 / M12 connector versions. |

We do not hold the full profile-to-cylinder-series table, so confirm the profile letter against your cylinder model before ordering — send us the cylinder part number and we will check the fit.
The split is electrical, not quality. Solid-state DMS and EMS are DC-only and suit modern PLC inputs; the reed-based CMS switches a much wider window, so it is the one for AC circuits, relay logic and older panels. The RW (IP68) option exists on DMS and EMS only.

The 5 m lead is the choice when the PLC cabinet or terminal rail sits far from the cylinder; beyond that, an M8/M12 connector version keeps long runs modular and swappable. EMS stays a 2-wire, DC-only design - if your control circuit is AC or you want a reed contact's wide 5-240 V tolerance, step across to the CMS family. The general type is IP64, so for washdown or oil-mist areas pick a DMS or EMS -RW version rated IP68.
Quick checklist
Use the F-MQ bracket on round-body cylinders and F-ACT on tie-rod cylinders where there is no groove to seat the switch. Both are ordered separately from the switch. Switching distance and mounting dimensions come from the factory datasheet — ask us for the sheet that matches your cylinder.
Specified as: electronic solid-state switching element, 2-wire circuit, 10-28 V DC supply, IP64 housing (general type), 5 m flying lead. Pair it with an AirTAC cylinder ordered with the built-in magnet option.
The supply window is 10-28 V DC and the lead is simply a longer cable run, not a different electrical type. Plan the routing to the cabinet, check your supply margin, and confirm exact limits from the datasheet. If you want to unplug the switch for service instead of cutting a lead, choose an M8 or M12 connector version.
