About the AirTAC GC300-08 FRL Unit (GC30008MF1W)

The AirTAC GC series is a three-piece F.R.L. combination: a separate air filter, pressure regulator and lubricator assembled as one air-preparation set. This GC30008MF1W is the size 300 set with PT1/4 (1/4 in) ports, a manual drain on the filter bowl, a 5 um filter element and an embedded square pressure gauge on the MPa scale. It removes water and particulate from compressed air, holds a set downstream pressure and meters oil mist into the line.

This is a genuine AirTAC part. Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi); the regulator on this manual-drain set adjusts from 0.05 to 0.9 MPa (7-130 psi); working temperature is -5 to 70 C (non-freezing); the size 300 filter bowl is polycarbonate. The GC family is also offered in sizes 200, 400 and 600, with G (BSPP) or NPT thread options, an automatic-drain choice and a check-valve suffix. AirTAC publishes flow as capacity curves rather than one rated figure - ask us and we will confirm the datasheet figures for your application.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). The combination has no separate bracket code — the three units couple together with their own mounting hardware. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

Field order is size, port, drain, type, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — there is no bracket position on a combination. Constituent units, orderable separately as spares: GF300-08 filter, GR300-08 regulator and GL300-08 lubricator.

Size Class & How It Differs From GFC

  • GC200PT1/8" - PT1/4"
  • GC300PT1/4" - PT1/2"
  • GC400PT3/8" - PT1/2"
  • GC600PT3/4" - PT1"

A GC is three separate units, so the filter and the regulator can each be serviced or replaced on their own. A GFC is the two-unit set, where filtering and regulating share one body — shorter, but the two functions come as one part. Both filter, regulate and lubricate.

Where the AirTAC GC300-08 FRL Unit (GC30008MF1W) Is Used

view_module

Pick-and-place gripper supply

Feeds the vacuum ejectors and gripper cylinders on a pick-and-place cell: clean 5 um air, a steady regulated pressure and an oil mist that keeps the small gripper cylinders sealing well.

settings_input_component

Machine-tool tool-changer air

Serves the clamp and unclamp cylinders of a CNC tool changer, where regulated pressure and light lubrication keep the change arm cycling reliably through every tool swap.

air

Pneumatic logic panel feed

Supplies a panel of air-piloted valves and timers, with the 5 um element protecting the small pilot orifices and the regulator holding the signal pressure steady.

Is the AirTAC GC300-08 FRL Unit (GC30008MF1W) the Right Station?

Match the GC size (200/300/400/600) to the port and air demand of the equipment being fed; this size 300 set carries 1/4 in PT ports. Manual drain (M) means the filter bowl must be bled periodically, and the manual-drain regulator covers 0.05-0.9 MPa (7-130 psi). The W element at 5 um is the finer choice for air feeding control valves and actuators; the standard 40 um element is a separate code if bulk filtration is enough. The square gauge reads in MPa; the F3 code gives a bar scale instead. Thread is PT as standard - G (BSPP) or NPT versions are separate catalogue codes. Flow for GC sets is published as capacity curves, not a single rating, so please ask us to confirm sizing before ordering.

Quick checklist

  • ✓ Body size for your peak flow (PT1/4" here)
  • ✓ Element 40 µm or 5 µm
  • ✓ Drain sets the regulating band
  • ✓ Gauge fitted, shape and scale
  • ✓ Three-unit (GC) or two-unit (GFC) layout
  • ✓ Oil mist acceptable downstream

Installation & Maintenance Notes

  • check Install with the airflow arrow: filter first, lubricator last.
  • check Mount vertically, bowls down.
  • check Keep inlet pressure at or below 1.0 MPa (145 psi).
  • check Adjust only within 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi).
  • check Drain condensate before the bowl fills; check the oil level.
  • check Keep the station above freezing (-5 to +70 °C, unfreeze).

The PC bowls must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe them with a dry cloth. The lubricator adds an oil mist downstream of the regulator. If any branch of the line must stay oil-free, take that branch off before the lubricator, or use a GR300-08 regulator with a GF300-08 filter on that branch.

AirTAC GC300-08 FRL Unit (GC30008MF1W) FAQ

AirTAC publishes F.R.L. capacity as flow curves that vary with inlet pressure and set pressure, not as a single rated figure, so we do not state a number here. Send us your line pressure and air demand and we will confirm the datasheet curve before you order.

The W code on this model means the 5 um element is fitted, the finer choice for downstream control valves, piloted devices and actuators with close clearances. The standard 40 um element, which is the default code without W, suits general bulk water and debris removal where the same set also feeds coarser tools.
