About the AirTAC GC300-08 FRL Unit (GC30008MF3)

The AirTAC GC series is a three-piece F.R.L. combination: a separate air filter, pressure regulator and lubricator assembled as one air-preparation set. This GC30008MF3 is the size 300 set with PT1/4 (1/4 in) ports, a manual drain on the filter bowl, the standard 40 um filter element and an embedded square pressure gauge on the bar scale. It removes water and particulate from compressed air, holds a set downstream pressure and meters oil mist into the line.

This is a genuine AirTAC part. Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi); the regulator on this manual-drain set adjusts from 0.05 to 0.9 MPa (7-130 psi); working temperature is -5 to 70 C (non-freezing); the size 300 filter bowl is polycarbonate. The GC family is also offered in sizes 200, 400 and 600, with G (BSPP) or NPT thread options, a 5 um element (W) and a check-valve suffix (K). AirTAC publishes flow as capacity curves rather than one rated figure - ask us and we will confirm the datasheet figures for your application.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). The combination has no separate bracket code — the three units couple together with their own mounting hardware. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

Field order is size, port, drain, type, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — there is no bracket position on a combination. Constituent units, orderable separately as spares: GF300-08 filter, GR300-08 regulator and GL300-08 lubricator.

Size Class & How It Differs From GFC

  • GC200PT1/8" - PT1/4"
  • GC300PT1/4" - PT1/2"
  • GC400PT3/8" - PT1/2"
  • GC600PT3/4" - PT1"

A GC is three separate units, so the filter and the regulator can each be serviced or replaced on their own. A GFC is the two-unit set, where filtering and regulating share one body — shorter, but the two functions come as one part. Both filter, regulate and lubricate.

Where the AirTAC GC300-08 FRL Unit (GC30008MF3) Is Used

build

Assembly-bench impact tool feed

Feeds impact wrenches and nutrunners at an assembly bench with the general-purpose 40 um element, a set regulated pressure and an oil mist that keeps the tool motors running.

settings_input_component

Assembly-station air drops

Serves the cylinders and clamps at a fixed assembly station, giving filtered, regulated, lubricated air at the drop so the station cycles consistently all shift.

local_shipping

Loading-dock air balancers

Supplies the air balancers and lift-assist cylinders at a loading dock, where the regulator holds the working pressure and the lubricator protects the balancer cylinder seals.

Is the AirTAC GC300-08 FRL Unit (GC30008MF3) the Right Station?

Step through the GC sizes (200/300/400/600) to match the port and air demand of the tools or station being fed; this size 300 set carries 1/4 in PT ports. Manual drain (M) means the filter bowl must be bled periodically, and the manual-drain regulator covers 0.05-0.9 MPa (7-130 psi). This code keeps the standard 40 um element, right for general-purpose air feeding hand tools and cylinders; the finer 5 um element is the W code instead. The square gauge reads in bar - handy where gauges are read in bar rather than MPa; the MPa-scale version is a separate code. Thread is PT as standard - G (BSPP) or NPT versions are separate catalogue codes. Flow is published as capacity curves, not a single rating, so ask us to confirm sizing before ordering.

Quick checklist

  • ✓ Body size for your peak flow (PT1/4" here)
  • ✓ Element 40 µm or 5 µm
  • ✓ Drain sets the regulating band
  • ✓ Gauge fitted, shape and scale
  • ✓ Three-unit (GC) or two-unit (GFC) layout
  • ✓ Oil mist acceptable downstream

Installation & Maintenance Notes

  • check Install with the airflow arrow: filter first, lubricator last.
  • check Mount vertically, bowls down.
  • check Keep inlet pressure at or below 1.0 MPa (145 psi).
  • check Adjust only within 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi).
  • check Drain condensate before the bowl fills; check the oil level.
  • check Keep the station above freezing (-5 to +70 °C, unfreeze).

The PC bowls must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe them with a dry cloth. The lubricator adds an oil mist downstream of the regulator. If any branch of the line must stay oil-free, take that branch off before the lubricator, or use a GR300-08 regulator with a GF300-08 filter on that branch.

AirTAC GC300-08 FRL Unit (GC30008MF3) FAQ

AirTAC publishes F.R.L. capacity as flow curves across pressures and sizes, not as a single rated figure, so we do not state a number here. Tell us your line pressure, set pressure and air consumption and we will confirm the datasheet curve and the right size (200/300/400/600) before you order.

The M code fits a manual drain, so the filter bowl is bled by hand or into a trap at intervals instead of draining itself - automatic-drain versions are separate codes. The F3 code fits the square gauge with a bar scale; if your plant reads pressure in MPa, order the F1 version of the same set.
