About the AirTAC GC400-10 FRL Unit (GC40010MC1)

The GC40010MC1 is a size 400, three-piece AirTAC G-series F.R.L. set: a separate air filter, a pressure regulator and an oil-mist lubricator on one compressed-air line, with a 3/8 in PT port. This configuration has the standard 40 um filtering element, a manual drain on the polycarbonate filter bowl, a round pressure gauge reading in MPa, and the standard regulator type. With the manual drain, the regulator adjustment range is 0.05-0.9 MPa (7-130 psi); maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi) and the working range is -5 to 70 C, non-freezing.

This is a genuine AirTAC part. Across the G-series F.R.L. you can order sizes 200 to 600 with ports from 1/8 in to 1 in, differential-pressure or automatic drain instead of manual, a 5 um element in place of the 40 um standard, square or round gauges in MPa, psi or bar, and G (BSPP) or NPT threads instead of PT. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so ask us to confirm sizing and the datasheet for this exact code before you order.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). The combination has no separate bracket code — the three units couple together with their own mounting hardware. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

Field order is size, port, drain, type, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — there is no bracket position on a combination. Constituent units, orderable separately as spares: GF400-10 filter, GR400-10 regulator and GL400-10 lubricator.

Size Class & How It Differs From GFC

  • GC200PT1/8" - PT1/4"
  • GC300PT1/4" - PT1/2"
  • GC400PT3/8" - PT1/2"
  • GC600PT3/4" - PT1"

A GC is three separate units, so the filter and the regulator can each be serviced or replaced on their own. A GFC is the two-unit set, where filtering and regulating share one body — shorter, but the two functions come as one part. Both filter, regulate and lubricate.

precision_manufacturing

CNC machine tool air supply

Feeding the tool-change cylinder, air blast and clamping circuits of a CNC machining centre with filtered, regulated, lubricated air, with the MPa gauge giving the setter a direct pressure readout.

Assembly-station valve manifolds

Conditioning the air feeding a bank of directional valves and cylinders at a manual assembly bench, where the 40 um element and oil mist keep spool and seal wear down through shift after shift.

Impact tool ring-main take-off

A wall-mounted take-off for pneumatic impact wrenches and nut runners in a maintenance shop: water and coarse debris stripped out, pressure set at the tool's rated level, and oil mist delivered inline.

Is the AirTAC GC400-10 FRL Unit (GC40010MC1) the Right Station?

The M code means the filter bowl is drained by hand on a maintenance round - in exchange, the regulator can be set as low as 0.05 MPa (7 psi), which differential-pressure and automatic drain versions cannot reach (they start at 0.15 MPa / 20 psi). Size 400 with its 3/8 in port is the mid-range step in the G-series; check the flow curve against your line demand. The 40 um element is the standard grade; order the W suffix for 5 um. This unit carries a round MPa gauge; square gauges and psi or bar scales are orderable. Thread is PT as the standard, with G and NPT as orderable options. Since AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, ask us to confirm this size against your application from the datasheet before ordering.

Quick checklist

  • ✓ Body size for your peak flow (PT3/8" here)
  • ✓ Element 40 µm or 5 µm
  • ✓ Drain sets the regulating band
  • ✓ Gauge fitted, shape and scale
  • ✓ Three-unit (GC) or two-unit (GFC) layout
  • ✓ Oil mist acceptable downstream

Installation & Maintenance Notes

  • check Install with the airflow arrow: filter first, lubricator last.
  • check Mount vertically, bowls down.
  • check Keep inlet pressure at or below 1.0 MPa (145 psi).
  • check Adjust only within 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi).
  • check Drain condensate before the bowl fills; check the oil level.
  • check Keep the station above freezing (-5 to +70 °C, unfreeze).

The PC bowls must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe them with a dry cloth. The lubricator adds an oil mist downstream of the regulator. If any branch of the line must stay oil-free, take that branch off before the lubricator, or use a GR400-10 regulator with a GF400-10 filter on that branch.

AirTAC GC400-10 FRL Unit (GC40010MC1) FAQ

AirTAC publishes flow for the G-series as performance curves, not as a single rated number, so we do not quote a figure here. Tell us your line pressure and air consumption and we will confirm the sizing from the datasheet on request.

The manual drain (M) needs someone to bleed the bowl periodically, but it allows regulation down to 0.05 MPa (7 psi). The differential-pressure default starts regulation at 0.15 MPa (20 psi) and drains with pressure drop rather than by hand. Choose by how low you need to set pressure and who will maintain the unit.
