About the AirTAC GC400-10 FRL Unit (GC40010MC1W)

The GC40010MC1W is a size 400, three-piece AirTAC G-series F.R.L. combination - separate air filter, pressure regulator and oil-mist lubricator - on a compressed-air line with a 3/8 in PT port. The W code selects the finer 5 um filtering element instead of the 40 um standard, the filter bowl has a manual drain, and the regulator carries a round pressure gauge reading in MPa. With the manual drain, the adjustment range is 0.05-0.9 MPa (7-130 psi); maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi) and the working range is -5 to 70 C, non-freezing.

This is a genuine AirTAC part. The G-series F.R.L. is available in sizes 200 to 600 with ports from 1/8 in to 1 in, with differential-pressure or automatic drain, 40 um or 5 um elements, square or round gauges in MPa, psi or bar scales, G (BSPP) or NPT threads, and a check-valve (K) variant. AirTAC publishes flow as curves rather than a single rated figure, so ask us to confirm sizing and the datasheet for this configuration before you order.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). The combination has no separate bracket code — the three units couple together with their own mounting hardware. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

Field order is size, port, drain, type, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — there is no bracket position on a combination. Constituent units, orderable separately as spares: GF400-10 filter, GR400-10 regulator and GL400-10 lubricator.

Size Class & How It Differs From GFC

  • GC200PT1/8" - PT1/4"
  • GC300PT1/4" - PT1/2"
  • GC400PT3/8" - PT1/2"
  • GC600PT3/4" - PT1"

A GC is three separate units, so the filter and the regulator can each be serviced or replaced on their own. A GFC is the two-unit set, where filtering and regulating share one body — shorter, but the two functions come as one part. Both filter, regulate and lubricate.

Where the AirTAC GC400-10 FRL Unit (GC40010MC1W) Is Used

science

Laboratory instrument air

Feeding pneumatic actuators and air-driven sample-handling hardware on a lab bench, where the 5 um element keeps fine debris out of small-bore tubing and precision valves while the lubricator protects moving seals.

view_module

Electronics pick-and-place feed

Conditioning the vacuum-generator and placement-head air on an SMT pick-and-place machine: 5 um-grade filtration upstream of sensitive components, regulated pressure, and a light oil mist for the head mechanism.

air

Air-jet cleaning stations

Supplying bench-mounted air guns used to blow down machined parts, where fine moisture and particulate removal keeps blown surfaces clean and the MPa gauge lets operators keep the jet pressure consistent.

Is the AirTAC GC400-10 FRL Unit (GC40010MC1W) the Right Station?

Pick the W code when the downstream equipment is sensitive to fine particulate - 5 um filtration instead of the 40 um standard; note that a finer element loads faster, which matters for how often the manual drain and bowl check are scheduled. The manual drain keeps the widest regulator setting range, 0.05-0.9 MPa (7-130 psi), against 0.15-0.9 MPa (20-130 psi) for the differential-pressure and automatic drain versions. Size 400 with its 3/8 in port is the mid-range step - compare the flow curve for your line against size 300 or 600. The round MPa gauge is fitted here; square gauges and psi or bar scales are orderable. Thread is PT as the standard, with G and NPT as orderable options. Flow is published only as curves, so ask us to confirm this size against your application from the datasheet before ordering.

Quick checklist

  • ✓ Body size for your peak flow (PT3/8" here)
  • ✓ Element 40 µm or 5 µm
  • ✓ Drain sets the regulating band
  • ✓ Gauge fitted, shape and scale
  • ✓ Three-unit (GC) or two-unit (GFC) layout
  • ✓ Oil mist acceptable downstream

Installation & Maintenance Notes

  • check Install with the airflow arrow: filter first, lubricator last.
  • check Mount vertically, bowls down.
  • check Keep inlet pressure at or below 1.0 MPa (145 psi).
  • check Adjust only within 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi).
  • check Drain condensate before the bowl fills; check the oil level.
  • check Keep the station above freezing (-5 to +70 °C, unfreeze).

The PC bowls must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe them with a dry cloth. The lubricator adds an oil mist downstream of the regulator. If any branch of the line must stay oil-free, take that branch off before the lubricator, or use a GR400-10 regulator with a GF400-10 filter on that branch.

AirTAC GC400-10 FRL Unit (GC40010MC1W) FAQ

AirTAC publishes flow for the G-series as performance curves, not as one rated figure, so no single number is quoted here. Share your line pressure and consumption with us and we will confirm this size and port from the datasheet on request before you order.

Only the filter grade: the W code selects a 5 um element instead of the 40 um standard, catching finer particles at the cost of a faster-loading element. Size 400, the PT3/8 port, the manual drain, the round MPa gauge and the standard regulator are otherwise the same.
