About the Airtac GC FRL Unit GC400C15MF3

GC400C15MF3 is an AirTAC GC-series three-piece F.R.L. combination for compressed air: separate filter, regulator and lubricator units assembled as one 400-size set on PT1/2 (1/2 in PT) standard ports. The filter has the standard 40 um element in a manual-drain polycarbonate bowl, the regulator adjusts from 0.05-0.9 MPa (7-130 psi) in this manual-drain configuration, and the F3 code fits an embedded square gauge reading in bar.

This is a genuine AirTAC part, rated for a maximum working pressure of 1.0 MPa (145 psi) and -5 to 70 C (non-freezing). The G series covers 200, 300, 400 and 600 sizes, with port steps, G (BSPP) and NPT thread options to order, drain types, the 5 um (W) filtration option, psi and MPa gauge scales, and no-gauge versions. AirTAC publishes flow as curves rather than a single rating, so we confirm datasheet and flow figures for your application on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). The combination has no separate bracket code — the three units couple together with their own mounting hardware. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

Field order is size, port, drain, type, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — there is no bracket position on a combination. Constituent units, orderable separately as spares: GF400-C1 filter, GR400-C1 regulator and GL400-C1 lubricator.

Size Class & How It Differs From GFC

  • GC200PT1/8" - PT1/4"
  • GC300PT1/4" - PT1/2"
  • GC400PT3/8" - PT1/2"
  • GC600PT3/4" - PT1"

A GC is three separate units, so the filter and the regulator can each be serviced or replaced on their own. A GFC is the two-unit set, where filtering and regulating share one body — shorter, but the two functions come as one part. Both filter, regulate and lubricate.

Where the Airtac GC FRL Unit GC400C15MF3 Is Used

valve

Water-treatment actuator drops

Feeds the quarter-turn valve actuators on a filtration and dosing train at a water treatment plant, with the bar-scale square gauge matching the plant's existing gauge convention.

settings_input_component

Textile machine air supplies

Conditions the supply to loom and winding machine valve blocks on a weaving floor, serving the machine's cylinders and actuators with filtered, regulated and lubricated air from one set.

engineering

Pneumatic press stations

Supplies the clamp and counterbalance circuits of a workshop pneumatic press, giving the operator a bar-scale set point readable at the machine.

Is the Airtac GC FRL Unit GC400C15MF3 the Right Station?

The 400 size gives 1/2 in PT ports; step to 200, 300 or 600 to match the connection and flow window your line needs. This version's M drain means the filter bowl is drained by hand on a schedule - choose automatic (A) or the differential-pressure default where the point of use is hard to reach. Filtration is the standard 40 um, with the 5 um W element as the finer option. The distinguishing choice here is the gauge: F3 gives an embedded square gauge in bar, while psi (F2) and MPa (F1) scales and no-gauge versions exist. Thread is PT as standard, with G (BSPP) and NPT as catalogue options. AirTAC publishes flow as curves, not a single rated figure, so ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.

Quick checklist

  • ✓ Body size for your peak flow (See datasheet here)
  • ✓ Element 40 µm or 5 µm
  • ✓ Drain sets the regulating band
  • ✓ Gauge fitted, shape and scale
  • ✓ Three-unit (GC) or two-unit (GFC) layout
  • ✓ Oil mist acceptable downstream

Installation & Maintenance Notes

  • check Install with the airflow arrow: filter first, lubricator last.
  • check Mount vertically, bowls down.
  • check Keep inlet pressure at or below 1.0 MPa (145 psi).
  • check Adjust only within 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi).
  • check Drain condensate before the bowl fills; check the oil level.
  • check Keep the station above freezing (-5 to +70 °C, unfreeze).

The PC bowls must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe them with a dry cloth. The lubricator adds an oil mist downstream of the regulator. If any branch of the line must stay oil-free, take that branch off before the lubricator, or use a GR400-C1 regulator with a GF400-C1 filter on that branch.

Airtac GC FRL Unit GC400C15MF3 FAQ

No single rated flow is published; AirTAC gives flow for the 400 size as performance curves. We do not state a figure that is not in the datasheet, so send us your line pressure and air demand and we will confirm the sizing from the datasheet on request.

F3 means the embedded square gauge reads in bar. The same 400-size set can be ordered with a psi scale (F2), an MPa scale (F1), or without a gauge. The scale only changes what the operator reads - it does not alter the 0.05-0.9 MPa (7-130 psi) adjustment range of this manual-drain version.
