The AirTAC AirTAC GFR400-10 Filter Regulator (GFR40010AJF1W) is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT3/8" ports, a automatic drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The GFR400-10 filters and regulates compressed air in one AirTAC G-series body on a 3/8" PT (standard thread) connection at size 400. The W suffix in this configuration selects the finer 5 um filter element instead of the standard 40 um, giving cleaner air to sensitive components. It also carries an automatic drain that ejects condensate by itself and an embedded square pressure gauge with MPa scale; outlet pressure adjusts over 0.15-0.9 MPa (20-130 psi) in the automatic-drain configuration.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family covers sizes 200 through 600, with port, drain, filter-grade, gauge, thread (PT/G/NPT) and check-valve options. Medium is compressed air only; max working pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi); operating temperature is -5 to 70 C, non-freezing. Because flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, we confirm datasheet and sizing figures on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GFR400 | G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 10 | Port size PT3/8". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| A | Drain: Automatic drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)). |
| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| F | Gauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square. |
| 1 | Gauge scale: MPa. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| (blank) | PT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Supplying instrument air to laboratory analysers or automated sampling stations, the 5 um element keeps fine particles out of sensitive pneumatic metering and valve components.
Feeding air-assisted spray guns or coating applicators, it regulates atomisation pressure at the panel and strips coarser contamination before the air reaches the finishing stage.
On a robotic pick-and-place cell with suction and gripper circuits, it holds a stable regulated supply for the end-of-arm tooling while the 5 um element protects small vacuum generators.
Pick this W version when the downstream equipment is sensitive to fine particulate - 5 um instead of the standard 40 um - otherwise the standard element keeps differential pressure lower over time. Size 400 with a 3/8" PT port suits lines built around that port; the 200/300/600 sizes step flow capacity up or down. Automatic drain keeps the 400-size PC bowl empty without operator attention. The square MPa gauge is included; N (no gauge) versions exist. PT is the standard thread, with G and NPT as catalogue options. Bracket: J = not included. Flow appears only as curves in the datasheet, so ask us to confirm sizing against your air demand before ordering.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes GFR flow as curves, not as a single rated number, so we will not quote a figure that is not in front of us. Send your supply pressure and required consumption and we will confirm the flow curve and datasheet for this exact 5 um configuration on request.
The standard 40 um element handles general plant-air protection; the 5 um W version is for downstream equipment that needs cleaner air, such as instruments, coating equipment or small pneumatic components. Both are catalogue options on this size; the finer element is the right pick only when the application genuinely needs it.
