The AirTAC AirTAC GFR400-10 Filter Regulator (GFR40010LF1W) is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT3/8" ports, a differential-pressure drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
GFR40010LF1W is an AirTAC G-series filter regulator: a single body that both removes water and particulate from compressed air and holds downstream pressure steady. Decoded, this unit is the 400 frame with a 3/8 in PT port, in the low-pressure type, fitted with the fine 5 um (W) element, the default differential-pressure drain and an embedded square pressure gauge scaled in MPa. Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi), the operating temperature window is -5 to 70 C (non-freezing), and the adjusted outlet range for a differential-pressure drain unit of this family is 0.15-0.9 MPa (20-130 psi).
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The same function is offered across the 200, 300, 400 and 600 frames with PT, G (BSPP) or NPT threads, 40 um standard or 5 um fine filtration, differential-pressure, automatic or manual drains, and square or round gauges in MPa, psi or bar scales; on this 400 frame the bowl is polycarbonate. AirTAC publishes flow as characteristic curves rather than one rated figure, so tell us your application and we will confirm the datasheet figures on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. The low-pressure type adjusts over a lower band than standard; we confirm the exact figures from the factory datasheet. Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

| (blank) | Drain: Differential-pressure drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)). |
| L | Low-pressure type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |

| F | Gauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square. |
| 1 | Gauge scale: MPa. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| (blank) | PT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Mounted at the drop to a spray booth, the unit removes water and 5 um particulate from the atomizing air line and holds a steady outlet pressure to the guns, helping finish quality stay consistent through a shift.
On a machining centre, the filter regulator supplies clean, regulated air to pallet and fixture clamping cylinders, so clamp force does not drift as the plant compressor cycles.
At a lab bench drop, the 5 um element protects sensitive analytical instruments and small pneumatic actuators from condensate and fine particles in the building air supply.
Step through the 200/300/400/600 frames to match port size and air demand: 400 gives a 3/8 in port, with 1/2 in as the next step up. Choose the drain early: differential-pressure (as on this code) needs no routine attention, automatic drains continuously, and manual suits intermittent duty - note that manual-drain versions widen the adjusted range to 0.05-0.9 MPa (7-130 psi). Pick the 5 um W element, as here, when downstream valves and instruments need finer protection than the 40 um standard. The embedded square gauge is the standard option and this code reads in MPa; a round external gauge in MPa, psi or bar scales can be ordered instead. PT is the standard thread, with G (BSPP) and NPT available as catalogue options, and the mounting bracket is included on this code (specify J to omit it). Because flow is published as curves, not a single rating, ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the G series as characteristic curves rather than a single rated figure, so there is no honest single number to quote here. Send us your line pressure, downstream demand and allowable pressure drop, and we will confirm the datasheet curve and sizing on request.
A blank position in the code is the 40 um standard element, which suits general plant air and cylinder supply. The W option, as in GFR40010LF1W, specifies 5 um filtration for lines feeding more delicate devices such as precision valves, sensors or instrumentation.
