The AirTAC AirTAC GFR400-15 Filter Regulator (GFR40015AF1) is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/2" ports, a automatic drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR40015AF1 is a GFR-series filter regulator: water and particulate separation plus downstream pressure regulation in a single body. This configuration is size 400 with PT1/2 ports, an automatic float drain that expels condensate without manual attention, a 40 um standard filter element, and the embedded square pressure gauge with MPa scale. Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi) and the standard setting range with automatic drain is 0.15-0.9 MPa (20-130 psi). Operating temperature is -5 to 70 C, non-freezing.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family is offered in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with a choice of PT, G (BSPP) or NPT threads, differential-pressure, automatic or manual drains, 40 um or 5 um (W) elements, optional check valve, and bracket or no-bracket mounting. Flow for this series is published as curves rather than a single rating, so we confirm the datasheet figures for your application on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GFR400 | G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 15 | Port size PT1/2". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| A | Drain: Automatic drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)). |
| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| (blank) | Mounting bracket included. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| F | Gauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square. |
| 1 | Gauge scale: MPa. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| (blank) | Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| (blank) | PT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Installed ahead of solenoid valve stacks on a machining centre, it removes condensate and particulate from the shop air and holds a steady regulated pressure to the tool changer and clamps.
On a form-fill-seal line, the unit conditions the plant air supply and regulates pressure to cylinders and grippers, with the automatic drain handling condensate through long production runs.
Mounted at a point-of-use drop on an automotive assembly line, it filters and regulates the air feeding impact drivers and palletising cylinders at the workstation.
Size 400 with 1/2 inch ports suits lines where higher air demand rules out the 200 and 300 frames; step up to 600 if your flow curve demands it. The automatic drain suits unattended duty; choose manual (0.05-0.9 MPa setting range) if you prefer supervised draining, or the differential-pressure default. The 40 um element is standard; specify W for the 5 um grade. Thread is PT as standard with G and NPT as orderable options, and a bracket is included.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the G series as characteristic curves, not as a single rated number, so we do not quote a figure. Send us your application details and we will confirm the sizing against the datasheet curves before you order.
The A in the code means the bowl drains condensate automatically, so no routine manual draining is needed. With automatic or differential-pressure drains the setting range is 0.15-0.9 MPa (20-130 psi); the manual-drain variant widens this to 0.05-0.9 MPa (7-130 psi).
