The AirTAC AirTAC GFR400-15 Filter Regulator (GFR40015AF1W) is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/2" ports, a automatic drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR40015AF1W is a GFR-series filter regulator specified with the W fine-filtration element: 5 um filtration instead of the 40 um standard, for air lines feeding more sensitive components. It combines water and particulate removal with pressure regulation in one body, size 400 with PT1/2 ports, automatic drain, and the embedded square gauge with MPa scale. Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi); setting range with automatic drain is 0.15-0.9 MPa (20-130 psi). Operating temperature is -5 to 70 C, non-freezing.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family is available in sizes 200 to 600 with PT, G (BSPP) or NPT threads, differential-pressure, automatic or manual drains, 40 um or 5 um elements, an optional check valve, and bracket options. Because flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, we confirm the datasheet figures for your application on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

|---|---|
| 15 | Port size PT1/2". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| A | Drain: Automatic drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)). |
| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| (blank) | Mounting bracket included. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| F | Gauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square. |
| 1 | Gauge scale: MPa. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| (blank) | PT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Supplying sample-handling pneumatics on laboratory analysers, the 5 um element gives finer particulate removal than the standard grade while the regulator holds a stable instrument supply pressure.
On precision handling equipment using air guides, the unit removes water and fine particulate from the supply and regulates the pressure feeding the air bearings.
At a spray booth drop, the fine 5 um element reduces particulate carryover into the finishing air while the regulator sets a consistent atomisation pressure.
Specify the W element when downstream equipment needs finer filtration than the standard 40 um grade. Size 400 with 1/2 inch ports suits higher-demand circuits; move to 600 if the flow curves require it. Automatic drain suits unattended operation (0.15-0.9 MPa setting range), while manual drain extends the range to 0.05-0.9 MPa. Thread is PT as standard with G and NPT as orderable options, and a bracket is included. The embedded square gauge reads in MPa.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the G series as characteristic curves, not a single rated figure, so no flow number is quoted here. Request the datasheet from us and we will confirm the sizing against the curves for your application before you order.
W specifies the optional 5 um filter grade for lines feeding more contamination-sensitive equipment; the standard element is 40 um. Everything else in the code is unchanged: PT1/2 ports, automatic drain, square MPa gauge, 1.0 MPa maximum inlet and a 0.15-0.9 MPa setting range.
