The AirTAC AirTAC GFR400-15 Filter Regulator (GFR40015AJC1W) is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/2" ports, a automatic drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
GFR40015AJC1W is an AirTAC GFR400 filter regulator combining filtration and pressure regulation in one body with a 1/2 in PT port. The W suffix selects the finer 5 um filter element instead of the 40 um standard, and this configuration adds an automatic drain, an external round pressure gauge scaled in MPa, and no mounting bracket (J suffix). Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi); with automatic drain, the outlet setting range is 0.15-0.9 MPa (20-130 psi).
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR series runs from size 200 to 600 with ports from 1/8 to 1 inch, drain choices of differential-pressure, automatic or manual, 40 um or 5 um filtration, and PT, G (BSPP) or NPT threads. The 400-size bowl is PC (polycarbonate) and the working temperature range is -5 to 70 C, non-freezing. AirTAC publishes flow as characteristic curves rather than one rated number, so we confirm datasheet figures for your duty on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GFR400 | G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 15 | Port size PT1/2". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| A | Drain: Automatic drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)). |
| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| C | Gauge shape: Round. C is round, F is square. |
| 1 | Gauge scale: MPa. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| (blank) | PT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Supplies filtered, regulated air to spray guns in an automotive refinish booth, where the 5 um element supports a cleaner air supply to the gun before the coating is applied.
Conditions the air feeding pneumatic grippers on an electronics assembly robot, with the regulator set to the pressure the gripper circuit was designed around.
Prepares the compressed air supply entering a laboratory analytical instrument or purge cabinet, filtering to 5 um and holding the set pressure at the point of use.
Choose the W variant when the job calls for the 5 um element rather than the 40 um standard - same GFR400 body, same 1/2 in PT port. The automatic drain (A) keeps condensate off the bowl floor without operator attention; manual (M) and differential-pressure draining are the other options. This unit carries a round gauge in MPa; psi and bar scales are available, and the gauge can be deleted with the N code. No bracket is fitted (J), but one can be ordered. PT is the standard thread, with G and NPT as catalogue options. Flow is published as curves, not a single rating - ask us to confirm sizing from the datasheet before you order.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the G series as characteristic curves, not as a single rated figure, so there is no one l/min or SCFM number we can quote. Tell us your operating pressure and demand and we will confirm the datasheet curve for the GFR400 against it before you order.
The 40 um element is the G-series standard; the W code moves the same GFR400 body to 5 um filtration. Choose W where the application calls for finer filtration - for example sensitive downstream equipment such as precision valves, spray nozzles or instrumentation. Everything else on this unit - 1/2 in PT port, automatic drain, MPa round gauge - is unchanged.
