The AirTAC AirTAC GFR400-15 Filter Regulator (GFR40015AJN) is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/2" ports, a automatic drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
GFR40015AJN is a genuine AirTAC GFR-series filter regulator: filtration and pressure regulation in one body, with a drain bowl and no lubricator. This configuration is size 400 with a PT 1/2 port (PT thread as standard), automatic drain and the standard 40 um filter element. The N code means no pressure gauge is fitted, and J means no mounting bracket. Regulator adjustment range for this automatic-drain version is 0.15-0.9 MPa (20-130 psi); maximum working pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi); working temperature range is -5 to 70 C (non-freezing).
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR series covers 200, 300, 400 and 600 sizes with ports from 1/8 to 1 inch, PT, G (BSPP) or NPT threads, differential-pressure, automatic or manual drains, 40 um standard or 5 um filtration, and optional gauges. The 400-size bowl is polycarbonate, so condensate level stays visible. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so we confirm flow and other datasheet figures for your application on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GFR400 | G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 15 | Port size PT1/2". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| A | Drain: Automatic drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)). |
| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| N | No pressure gauge (N). |
| (blank) | Gauge shape: Factory standard. C is round, F is square. |
| (blank) | Gauge scale: Factory standard. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| (blank) | Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| (blank) | PT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Regulates and filters the air feeding pallet-clamping cylinders on a CNC machining centre, with the automatic drain handling condensate through unattended cutting cycles.
Conditions the branch air supply to weaving loom actuator circuits on the mill floor, where the standard 40 um element suits general plant air quality.
Sits at the head of a workshop air drop feeding pneumatic hand tools and clamps, setting a stable working pressure for the whole station.
Size 400 with a 1/2 inch port is the larger mid-range step of the GFR series; move to 300 or 600 for a different flow band, and ask us to confirm sizing against the published flow curves before ordering. Drain: automatic here, with manual and differential-pressure as the alternatives. Filter grade: the standard 40 um element suits general plant air; choose the W code for 5 um. Gauge: N omits it, but square or round gauges with MPa, psi or bar scales can be selected. Thread: PT is standard; G (BSPP) and NPT are catalogue options to order. J omits the optional bracket.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for GFR filter regulators as curves, not as a single rated figure, so we do not state a number here. Share your application details and we will confirm the flow for this 400-size unit with its 1/2 inch PT port, along with the full datasheet, on request.
The N in the code means no pressure gauge is fitted, which keeps the panel layout clean if a separate gauge is already in the circuit. If you want local indication, the equivalent configuration with an embedded square gauge in MPa, psi or bar scale is available in the same series - just ask and we will quote the right code.
