The AirTAC AirTAC GFR400-15 Filter Regulator (GFR40015ALJF1) is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/2" ports, a automatic drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The GFR series is a filter regulator: filtration and pressure regulation are built into one body, so the air is cleaned of water and particulate and then reduced to the working set pressure in a single unit. This model is a size 400 unit with a PT1/2 (1/2 in) port, an automatic drain that expels collected condensate on its own, the standard 40 um filter element, the low-pressure (L) regulator type for reduced set pressures, and an embedded square gauge with MPa scale. It carries the J (no bracket) option, so it mounts directly on the pipework.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. Across the GFR family you can choose sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with ports from 1/8 in to 1 in, differential-pressure (default), automatic or manual drains, 40 um standard or 5 um optional elements, square or external round gauges in MPa, psi or bar scales, PT as the standard thread and G (BSPP) or NPT as catalogue options. Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi), the working temperature range is -5 to 70 C (non-freezing), and the 400-size bowl is PC (polycarbonate). Flow is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so we confirm flow and datasheet figures on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. The low-pressure type adjusts over a lower band than standard; we confirm the exact figures from the factory datasheet. Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GFR400 | G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 15 | Port size PT1/2". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| A | Drain: Automatic drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)). |
| L | Low-pressure type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| F | Gauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square. |
| 1 | Gauge scale: MPa. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| (blank) | Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| (blank) | PT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Conditions pilot air on a valve automation skid, where the standard 40 um element suits general instrument air and the low-pressure type matches reduced set pressures at the positioners.
Feeds low-pressure cylinders and jets on textile machinery, with standard-grade filtration and automatic drainage keeping the machine air clean and dry.
Regulates supply to air cylinders at an assembly bench, with the embedded square MPa gauge letting operators set and check pressure at the station.
Size and port set capacity: this 400 unit has a 1/2 in PT port, with 300 (3/8 in) and 600 (3/4 in) as the neighbouring steps. The 40 um element fitted here is the standard grade for general plant air; specify the W suffix for the finer 5 um grade. Drain type: automatic (this unit) for unattended duty, manual where an operator can drain periodically, differential-pressure as the default. The fitted gauge is the embedded square type in MPa; external round gauges and psi or bar scales are code options. Thread is PT as standard, with G (BSPP) and NPT available, and the J suffix means no mounting bracket. AirTAC publishes flow as curves, not a single rating, so ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering; we also confirm the exact setting range of the low-pressure type on request.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for this series as performance curves rather than a single rated number, so we do not quote a rated flow figure. Tell us your line pressure and air demand and we will confirm the correct size from the datasheet on request.
The L suffix marks the low-pressure version of the GFR regulator, intended for applications that need reduced set pressures rather than the full standard range. We confirm the exact setting-range figures from the datasheet on request so you can match the unit to your process.
