The AirTAC AirTAC GFR400-15 Filter Regulator (GFR40015AN) is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/2" ports, a automatic drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400 series combines filtration and pressure regulation in a single body: incoming compressed air passes through a drain bowl that removes water and particulate, then through a regulator that sets downstream pressure. This GFR40015AN is the size 400 unit with a 1/2 in PT port, an automatic drain that ejects collected condensate without operator attention, and the standard 40 um filter element. With this automatic-drain version the regulator adjusts across 0.15-0.9 MPa (20-130 psi), maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi), and no gauge is fitted.
This is a genuine AirTAC part from the G-series air-treatment range, with a PC (polycarbonate) bowl and a bracket included. The GFR family is offered in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with ports from 1/8 to 1 in, differential-pressure or manual drain options, an optional 5 um element, G (BSPP) or NPT thread variants, and gauge options. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rated figure; we confirm the datasheet and sizing on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

| 15 | Port size PT1/2". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| A | Drain: Automatic drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)). |
| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| (blank) | Mounting bracket included. |
| N | No pressure gauge (N). |
| (blank) | Gauge shape: Factory standard. C is round, F is square. |
| (blank) | Gauge scale: Factory standard. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| (blank) | Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| (blank) | PT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Feeds filtered, regulated air to the tool-changer and clamping actuators on a CNC machining centre, with the automatic drain keeping condensate out of a machine fed from a long 1/2 in drop line.
Supplies clean, pressure-set air to the stoppers, diverters and pushers along a carton packaging conveyor, where stable downstream pressure keeps indexing repeatable.
Sits at the wall drop of an assembly cell so operators get filtered air at a fixed setting for air tools, clamps and small actuators, without relying on the main FRL at the compressor.
Move up or down through sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 - larger sizes carry larger ports (here 1/2 in) and greater flow capacity, so match the size step to the air demand of the circuit. Drain options for GFR are differential-pressure (default), automatic (this model, code A) and manual; automatic suits lines that run unattended. The standard element is 40 um, with 5 um available on W variants. Gauges are optional on the family - an embedded square gauge or an external round gauge in MPa, psi or bar scales - and threads come as PT (the standard), G (BSPP) or NPT to order. Flow is published as curves, not a single rating, so ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the G-series as curves rather than a single rated figure, so we do not quote a number on the page. Tell us your application and we will confirm the datasheet flow curve and check the sizing of this size 400, 1/2 in filter regulator on request.
A is the drain code: this unit has an automatic drain that discharges collected condensate by itself. The family also comes with a manual drain (code M, which widens the regulation range to 0.05-0.9 MPa) or the differential-pressure drain, which is the default when no drain letter appears.
