The AirTAC AirTAC GFR400-15 Filter Regulator (GFR40015JC1W) is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/2" ports, a differential-pressure drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The GFR400-15JC1W is an AirTAC G-series filter regulator in the 400 size with a 1/2 in port and PT thread. It filters water and particulate down to 5 um - the finer W grade - and regulates downstream pressure over 0.15-0.9 MPa (20-130 psi), the range that applies with the differential-pressure drain in this code. This configuration includes an external round pressure gauge scaled in MPa.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR series spans 200, 300, 400 and 600 sizes with ports from 1/8 to 1 in, PT as the standard thread and G (BSPP) or NPT as catalogue options, plus manual, automatic or differential-pressure drains, 40 um or 5 um filter grades, gauge choices and low-pressure (L) variants. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so ask us to confirm the datasheet for your application.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GFR400 | G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 15 | Port size PT1/2". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| (blank) | Drain: Differential-pressure drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)). |
| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| C | Gauge shape: Round. C is round, F is square. |
| 1 | Gauge scale: MPa. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| (blank) | PT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Finely filtered, regulated air upstream of the valve island and rodless cylinders on an automated assembly line, keeping 5 um-grade air at the set pressure the valves were sized for.
Clean 5 um air feeding grippers and lift stages on laboratory automation equipment, where the MPa gauge lets technicians verify set pressure against the equipment specification.
Regulated supply to the diverter and stopper cylinders along a parcel-sort conveyor, with the differential-pressure drain managing bowl drainage across continuous multi-shift running.
The 400 size gives a 1/2 in port against 3/8 in on the 300, so match the port to your main line and confirm sizing against the published flow curves before ordering. The W code selects the 5 um element instead of the standard 40 um - choose it when downstream valves and cylinders need finer protection. The differential-pressure drain clears the bowl automatically; manual (M) or automatic (A) drain codes exist if your duty suits them better. The round gauge here reads in MPa; psi (2) and bar (3) scales are orderable. PT is the standard thread - order G or T suffixes for BSPP or NPT, and add a bracket version if you will mount the unit.
Since flow is published as curves and not a single rated number, send us your line pressure and air demand and we will confirm sizing from the datasheet before you order.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for this series as curves rather than a single rated figure, so no flow number is stated here. Share your working pressure and air consumption and we will confirm the datasheet curve and whether the 1/2 in port suits your application before you order.
Choose W when downstream components - precision valves, air bearings, pneumatic instrumentation - need finer particulate protection than the standard 40 um element provides. The 40 um version of this unit is GFR400-15JC1 without the W; both fit the same 1/2 in PT port.
