The AirTAC AirTAC GFR400-15 Filter Regulator (GFR40015JNW) is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/2" ports, a differential-pressure drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
GFR40015JNW is an AirTAC G-series filter regulator specified with the 5 um filter element (W). Filtration and pressure regulation share one body: the 400 size carries a 1/2 in PT port, the finer 5 um element captures water and particulate to a tighter grade than the standard 40 um, and the bowl drains by differential pressure. Supplied without a bracket (J) and without a gauge (N).
This is a genuine AirTAC part in the GFR400 series. The G-series runs from size 200 to 600 with ports from 1/8 to 1 in, with manual or automatic drain, standard 40 um or 5 um elements, gauge and thread variants. Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi), the regulation range with differential-pressure drain is 0.15-0.9 MPa (20-130 psi), and the working temperature is -5 to 70 C. Flow is published as curves, so we confirm datasheet figures on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

|---|---|
| 15 | Port size PT1/2". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| (blank) | Drain: Differential-pressure drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)). |
| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| N | No pressure gauge (N). |
| (blank) | Gauge shape: Factory standard. C is round, F is square. |
| (blank) | Gauge scale: Factory standard. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| (blank) | PT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Conditioning compressed air for bench-top analysers and test instruments, the 5 um element helps keep moisture carryover and particulates away from sensitive pneumatic controls.
On packaging and assembly machines using precision pneumatic actuators, it delivers finely filtered, regulated air where coarse 40 um filtration would be the weak point.
Supplying spray and coating equipment, it filters the shop air to 5 um and sets the working pressure the spray setup was tuned to, with the bowl draining by differential pressure.
Specify the W element when the equipment downstream of the unit is sensitive to finer contamination than general plant air - the 5 um grade is the only difference from the standard 40 um GFR40015JN. Match the 400 size and 1/2 in PT port to your piping and check the published flow curve against demand. Drain is differential-pressure here; automatic and manual versions exist for other duty patterns. Thread is PT as standard, with G (BSPP) and NPT to order; no bracket is included. As flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, ask us to confirm sizing before you order.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
Flow for the G-series is published by AirTAC as performance curves, not as a single rated number, so we do not state a figure here. Share your flow and pressure conditions and we will confirm from the datasheet whether the 400 size is right before you order.
W specifies the 5 um filter element instead of the standard 40 um grade. The rest of the decode is unchanged: filter regulator function, 400 size, 1/2 in PT port, differential-pressure drain, no bracket and no gauge. Choose W where the downstream equipment needs the finer filtration grade.
