The AirTAC AirTAC GFR400-15 Filter Regulator (GFR40015LF1W) is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/2" ports, a differential-pressure drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
GFR40015LF1W is an AirTAC G-series filter regulator: one body that removes water and particulate from the compressed air line and sets downstream pressure. This 400-size configuration carries a 1/2 in PT port, the low-pressure (L) regulator type, a differential-pressure drain bowl with the finer 5 um element, and the embedded square gauge scaled in MPa, with a mounting bracket included.
It is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR series spans 200, 300, 400 and 600 sizes with ports from 1/8 in to 1 in, PT, G (BSPP) or NPT threads, selectable element grade, drain type and gauge. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, so we confirm datasheet and sizing figures on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. The low-pressure type adjusts over a lower band than standard; we confirm the exact figures from the factory datasheet. Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GFR400 | G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 15 | Port size PT1/2". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| (blank) | Drain: Differential-pressure drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)). |
| L | Low-pressure type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| (blank) | Mounting bracket included. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| F | Gauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square. |
| 1 | Gauge scale: MPa. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| (blank) | PT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Supplies cleaned low-pressure regulated air to spindle taper purge and door-assist circuits on a CNC machining centre, with the 5 um element guarding the small metering orifices.
Conditions air for the low-pressure eject and transfer cups on an SMT feeder bench, where fine filtration keeps nozzle seats free of particulate.
Feeds a maintenance calibration stand that exercises low-pressure pneumatic transmitters and switches, holding a stable setpoint with a clean, dry supply.
The 400 size fits lines whose demand sits above a 300-size unit; 3/8 in and 3/4 in port variants exist for pipework matching. The W suffix selects the finer 5 um element over the 40 um standard, for circuits feeding sensitive downstream valves and tools. The low-pressure (L) type caps set pressure at 0.4 MPa for circuits that run below standard line pressure. Drain is differential-pressure as standard, with automatic (A) or manual (M) selectable; the F1 code gives the embedded square MPa gauge. PT is the standard thread, with G (BSPP) and NPT as order options, and a bracket is included.
Flow for this series is published as curves, not one rated figure, so ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the G series as characteristic curves rather than a single rated figure, so there is no honest single number to quote. Send us your line pressure and demand and we will confirm sizing from the datasheet on request.
PT is the standard thread on this code and is what you get as ordered. G (BSPP) and NPT versions of the same 400-size unit exist as catalogue options, so match your existing pipework when specifying.
