The AirTAC AirTAC GFR400-15 Filter Regulator (GFR40015MJF1WK) is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/2" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR series combines a compressed-air filter and a pressure regulator in one body. This GFR40015MJF1WK is the 400 size with a 1/2 in PT thread, a manual-drain polycarbonate bowl, the 5 um (W) filter element for finer particle removal, an embedded square gauge scaled in MPa, and a reverse (check) valve fitted so downstream pressure is retained when the upstream supply drops. The regulator adjusts from 0.05 to 0.9 MPa (7-130 psi) with manual drain; maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi). Operating temperature range is -5 to 70 C, non-freezing.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The G series is available in 200, 300, 400 and 600 sizes with PT, G (BSPP) or NPT threads, automatic, manual or differential-pressure drains, 5 um or 40 um elements, gauge and bracket options, and the K check-valve variant. Flow is published as a curve, not a single rated figure; ask us and we will confirm the datasheet figures for your application on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GFR400 | G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 15 | Port size PT1/2". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| M | Drain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)). |
| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| F | Gauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square. |
| 1 | Gauge scale: MPa. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| (blank) | PT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| K | Reverse-flow (reflux) valve fitted. |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Feeds hydraulic-style pneumatic workholding on CNC fixtures, where the check valve maintains clamping pressure through upstream supply dips and the 5 um element protects the locking circuits.
Supplies grippers and tool changers on a robot arm, filtering plant air to 5 um and regulating to the gripper's rated pressure, with the check valve retaining grip pressure if house air drops.
Regulates air to sorting gates and stopping cylinders on conveyor lines; the fitted check valve keeps gates in their last position during a momentary supply loss.
This configuration suits circuits that need both finer filtration and pressure retention: the W element filters to 5 um and the K suffix adds the reverse (check) valve that holds downstream pressure if supply is interrupted. The 400 body serves 1/2 in piping - drop to 300 for 3/8 in lines or move to 600 for larger headers. The M drain means the bowl is vented by hand, so it fits stations checked during shifts; choose A or the blank differential-pressure drain for self-draining operation. The square gauge reads in MPa, with psi and bar scales plus an external round gauge as catalogue options. PT is the standard thread; G (BSPP) and NPT versions are ordered as specifications. The J suffix means no mounting bracket is included - order one for panel mounting. Since flow is published as curves rather than one rating, send us your pressure and demand figures and we will confirm sizing against the datasheet before you order.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. The reflux valve permits reverse flow through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for this model as a curve across pressures, not as a single rated figure, so we do not quote one number. Give us your working pressure and air demand and we will confirm the datasheet flow figures for your operating point on request before you order.
K means a reverse (check) valve is fitted, so downstream pressure is held when the upstream supply falls - the version without K passes flow both ways. Everything else in the code matches: manual drain (M), no bracket (J), square MPa gauge (F1), 5 um element (W), standard regulator type and PT1/2 port.
