The AirTAC AirTAC GFR400-15 Filter Regulator (GFR40015MLF1) is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/2" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR40015MLF1 is a filter regulator that cleans compressed air and controls downstream pressure in one compact body. This 400-size unit is fitted with a PT1/2 port, a manual drain on the PC bowl, the standard 40 um filter element, the low-pressure (L) regulator type, a mounting bracket and a square pressure gauge scaled in MPa. With manual drainage, the bowl must be drained by hand, which suits duties where someone is already at the machine and the pressure range may extend down to 0.05 MPa (7 psi).
This is a genuine AirTAC part in the 400 size of the G series, one step up in port and flow capacity from the 300 size. Companion sizes 200, 300 and 600 and options such as automatic or differential-pressure drains, the finer 5 um element and G (BSPP) or NPT threads are also available from us. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, so we confirm the datasheet figure for your duty on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. The low-pressure type adjusts over a lower band than standard; we confirm the exact figures from the factory datasheet. Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GFR400 | G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 15 | Port size PT1/2". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| M | Drain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)). |
| L | Low-pressure type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| (blank) | Mounting bracket included. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| F | Gauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square. |
| 1 | Gauge scale: MPa. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| (blank) | Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| (blank) | PT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Mounted ahead of a bank of air clamps on a fixture line, it strips water and pipe-scale from the shop supply and holds the clamp pressure steady so every cycle grips identically. The manual drain is emptied during routine changeover checks.
Packaging machinery that lowers boxes onto sealing jaws needs clean, gently regulated air. This low-pressure type filter regulator, with its MPa gauge visible on the panel, feeds the seal cylinders through a PT1/2 drop from the main header.
Where atomising air must be supplied well below full line pressure, the L-type regulator trims the supply down while the 40 um element stops scale and condensate reaching the nozzle, with hand drainage built into the end-of-shift routine.
Start with the port: PT1/2 on this 400-size body is the AirTAC step above 3/8 in. If your line is already plumbed at 1/2 in, this avoids adapters; otherwise check whether a 300-size PT3/8 unit matches the flow you need. Choose the manual drain here if operators can bleed the bowl routinely; pick the automatic drain variant if the unit sits in an inaccessible spot. The 40 um element is standard for general plant air; specify the W variant for finer filtration. Thread: PT is the standard, with G and NPT available as order options. This low-pressure (L) type, with bracket and square MPa gauge fitted, is the configuration you want where setpoints stay below the standard unit's range.
Because AirTAC publishes flow as performance curves and not as one rated number, send us your required flow and pressure and we will confirm the correct size from the datasheet before you order.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes filter-regulator capacity as performance curves rather than a single rated flow figure, so there is no one number we can quote. Tell us your working pressure and demand and we will confirm the correct size from the datasheet before you order.
M is the manual drain on the PC bowl (instead of the default differential-pressure drain), L is the low-pressure regulator type, and F1 means a square pressure gauge scaled in MPa is fitted. A bracket is included because there is no J in the code, and the element is the standard 40 um grade since there is no W.
