The AirTAC AirTAC GFR400-15 Filter Regulator (GFR40015NW) is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/2" ports, a differential-pressure drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400-15NW is a combined filter regulator fitted with the 5 um filter element (the W option), giving finer particulate removal than the standard 40 um grade together with pressure regulation in one body. This is the 400 size with a PT1/2 port, a differential-pressure drain bowl (PC bowl on the 400 size), and no gauge, aimed at 1/2 in lines feeding air components that need cleaner supply air.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The G-series covers 200 to 600 size with ports from 1/8 to 1 in, PT as standard plus G(BSPP) and NPT catalogue options, and drain, filter-grade, gauge and check-valve choices. Max inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi); working temperature is -5 to 70 C. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so we confirm flow and datasheet details on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

| 15 | Port size PT1/2". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| (blank) | Drain: Differential-pressure drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)). |
| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| (blank) | Mounting bracket included. |
| N | No pressure gauge (N). |
| (blank) | Gauge shape: Factory standard. C is round, F is square. |
| (blank) | Gauge scale: Factory standard. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| (blank) | PT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Filtering and regulating the 1/2 in supply to pneumatic actuators on laboratory automation equipment, with the 5 um element giving finer protection for sensitive pilot valves.
Conditioning air to the clutch and counterbalance circuits of a pneumatic stamping press, where the 5 um element keeps fine contamination out of precision valves.
Supplying a filtered, regulated branch feeding positioners and transducer-powered controls on a process skid, protected downstream by the 5 um element.
Choose the 400 size and PT1/2 port for 1/2 in circuits; drop to 300 or step to 600 if your fittings or air demand point elsewhere. The W suffix is the reason to pick this code: the 5 um element suits components that need finer filtration than the standard 40 um. With the differential-pressure drain, the regulating range is 0.15-0.9 MPa (20-130 psi); the manual-drain option (M) widens this to 0.05-0.9 MPa (7-130 psi). No gauge is fitted on this version; gauge-equipped variants are available in the series. Thread is PT standard with G and NPT options, and a bracket is included.
Flow is published as curves, not a single rating, so ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC does not publish a single rated flow for G-series units - flow appears only as performance curves. Share your application's air demand and we will confirm sizing and supply the datasheet curve on request.
The standard 40 um element is right for general actuator and valve protection; the W option on this model gives a 5 um element for circuits that need finer filtration, such as pilot-operated valves or instrument air. Both grades are available across the GF, GFR, GFC and GC families - note that finer filtration can affect the pressure-drop curve, which we can confirm from the datasheet on request.
