The AirTAC AirTAC GFR400-10 Filter Regulator G3/8 5 um Low-Pressure is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT3/8" ports, a differential-pressure drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400-10 is a filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and regulates downstream pressure in a single body. This configuration is the size 400 unit with a G3/8 (BSPP) port, the low-pressure regulator type, 5 um filtration (the finer W grade), a differential-pressure drain, an embedded square gauge reading in psi, and a reverse/check valve fitted. No mounting bracket is included, so plan for direct piping or your own bracket. The PC (polycarbonate) bowl lets you see condensate building up.
This is a genuine AirTAC part from the GFR series, which spans sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with port sizes from 1/8" to 1" and options including manual or automatic drains, 40 um or 5 um filtration, gauge scale in MPa, psi or bar, and PT, G or NPT threads. Flow figures for this series are published as curves rather than a single rating, so ask us to confirm sizing and the exact low-pressure regulation range for your application before ordering.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. The low-pressure type adjusts over a lower band than standard; we confirm the exact figures from the factory datasheet. Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

|---|---|
| 10 | Port size PT3/8". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| (blank) | Drain: Differential-pressure drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)). |
| L | Low-pressure type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| F | Gauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square. |
| 2 | Gauge scale: psi. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| G | G (BSPP) thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| K | Reverse-flow (reflux) valve fitted. |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Feeds spray guns on a finishing line where a low, stable regulated pressure and clean, water-free air are needed for consistent finish quality; the 5 um element and check valve suit this duty.
Supplies filtered, regulated air to clamp cylinders on CNC fixtures, protecting the clamping valves from water and grit while holding the set pressure at the fixture.
Conditions the air feeding diverter gates, stoppers and pusher cylinders on a packaging conveyor, with the psi gauge giving operators a local pressure reference at the line.
Start with the port and size: this unit is size 400 with a G3/8 port; step up or down through sizes 200 to 600 if your line uses a different port or needs more flow. You have chosen the 5 um W element over the 40 um standard - keep 40 um for general upstream protection and 5 um where downstream valves or instruments need cleaner air. The differential-pressure drain bleeds condensate automatically as flow passes; a manual-drain or automatic-drain version can be ordered instead if your duty cycle suits it better. The square gauge reads psi; MPa or bar scales and an external round gauge are alternatives. Thread here is G (BSPP); PT is the standard thread and NPT is also an order option. The J code means no bracket is supplied.
Because flow for this series is published as curves and the low-pressure regulation range is not a single published figure, send us your application details and we will confirm sizing and the regulation range against the datasheet before you order.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. The reflux valve permits reverse flow through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as curves, not as a single rated number, so we do not quote a rated flow, Cv or SCFM figure for this unit. Send us your application - port size, downstream demand and line pressure - and we will confirm the sizing against the datasheet curves on request.
The W in the code specifies the 5 um filtration grade instead of the 40 um standard, giving finer removal of water and particulate for sensitive downstream equipment. The K code means a reverse/check valve is fitted to hold downstream pressure if the upstream supply drops. Both are order-time choices: the 40 um grade and a unit without the check valve are also available in this series.
