The AirTAC AirTAC GFR400-10 Filter Regulator, NPT 3/8 in, 5 um is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT3/8" ports, a automatic drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400-10 is a filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and regulates downstream pressure in a single body. This configuration is the size 400 unit with a 3/8 in NPT port, 5 um filtration (the finer W grade, versus the standard 40 um), an automatic drain that ejects collected condensate without manual attention, and the low-pressure regulator type for circuits that run below standard working pressures. A reverse/check valve is fitted, a mounting bracket is included, and no gauge is supplied as standard.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family spans sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with port options from 1/8 in to 1 in, thread options PT (standard), G and NPT, drain choices, filter grades and gauge options, so a matching unit exists for most line sizes. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, so ask us to confirm the datasheet figures for your application before ordering.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. The low-pressure type adjusts over a lower band than standard; we confirm the exact figures from the factory datasheet. Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GFR400 | G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 10 | Port size PT3/8". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| A | Drain: Automatic drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)). |
| L | Low-pressure type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| (blank) | Mounting bracket included. |
| N | No pressure gauge (N). |
| (blank) | Gauge shape: Factory standard. C is round, F is square. |
| (blank) | Gauge scale: Factory standard. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| T | NPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| K | Reverse-flow (reflux) valve fitted. |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Point-of-use conditioning on a packaging machine air circuit that runs at reduced pressure: the 5 um element keeps moisture and fines out of the valve bank while the low-pressure regulator holds the set pressure the machine was tuned for.
Feeding cleaning and hold-down jets along a conveyor line, where the automatic drain clears condensate between shifts and the check valve keeps downstream pressure from backing up when the upstream supply is shut off.
Conditioning the supply to a clamping fixture on a machining cell: the 5 um grade protects the fixture's pilot valves, and the regulator lets the setter dial in the clamp pressure appropriate to the low-pressure circuit.
Size and port: the 400 size with a 3/8 in NPT port suits mid-to-large branch lines; step up to 600 or down to 300 depending on the flow your line needs - we can check the published flow curves against your demand. Drain: automatic suits enclosed or attended-less installations; manual and differential-pressure drains are available on other variants. Filtration: 5 um (this unit) protects precision components; 40 um is the standard grade for general circuits. Note this is the low-pressure regulator type - confirm its suitability against your set pressure. Thread: NPT here; PT is the standard thread and G is also an order option. No gauge is fitted; gauge options exist on other variants. Bracket included.
Because flow is published only as curves and not as a single rated figure, ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. The reflux valve permits reverse flow through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as curves, not as a single rated number, so we do not quote a figure that could mislead. Tell us your line pressure and the flow your application needs, and we will confirm the datasheet curve figures for this exact model on request before you order.
This configuration (code N) ships without a gauge fitted; gauge options are available on other GFR variants and can be ordered separately. Note also that this is the low-pressure regulator type, so confirm your set pressure falls within its range - we can confirm the published details on request.
