The AirTAC AirTAC GFR400-10T Filter Regulator 3/8 NPT Low-Pressure is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT3/8" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400-10T is a filter regulator: one body that removes water and particulate from compressed air and regulates downstream pressure. This size 400 unit is fitted with a 3/8 in NPT port, the low-pressure regulator type, a manual drain on the PC (polycarbonate) bowl, and the standard 40 um filter element. The round external gauge on this configuration reads in psi, so outlet pressure can be checked at a glance. Maximum working (inlet) pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi) and the operating temperature range is -5 to 70 C (non-freezing). No mounting bracket is included on this variant and no reverse/check valve is fitted.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR filter-regulator family is available in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with port sizes from 1/8 to 1 inch, a choice of manual, automatic or differential-pressure drains, a 40 um standard or 5 um (code W) filter element, embedded square or optional external round gauges in MPa, psi or bar scales, and PT, G or NPT threads. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so ask us to confirm the datasheet figures for your application.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. The low-pressure type adjusts over a lower band than standard; we confirm the exact figures from the factory datasheet. Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GFR400 | G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 10 | Port size PT3/8". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| M | Drain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)). |
| L | Low-pressure type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| C | Gauge shape: Round. C is round, F is square. |
| 2 | Gauge scale: psi. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| (blank) | Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| T | NPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

On a pneumatic clamping or holding fixture that must run at a reduced supply pressure, this filter regulator cleans the air and holds the set downstream pressure, with the psi gauge letting the setter verify the setting.
Installed as the point-of-use treatment station on a CNC machine or press tool, it removes water and particulate from the shop-air main before the machine's valves and cylinders, with a manual drain emptied during scheduled maintenance.
Fitted ahead of the cylinders and air jets on a packaging or conveyor line, it conditions the air and regulates it to the level the actuators were designed for, protecting them from dirt and moisture in the supply.
Start with the port size: this unit steps up to 3/8 in on the size 400 body, and the right size depends on the air consumption of the circuit it feeds - larger sizes carry more flow. Because flow is published as curves and not a single rating, ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering. Choose the drain next: this unit is manual drain (drain the bowl by hand as part of routine checks), while automatic and differential-pressure drains are available on other variants. The standard filter grade is 40 um; a 5 um element (code W) is available where finer filtration is needed. This is the low-pressure regulator type; its exact adjustment range is not published in the catalogue data we hold, so confirm it with us. Gauge scale (MPa, psi or bar), thread (PT standard, G or NPT to order) and bracket inclusion are all selectable.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for this family as curves rather than a single rated figure, so we do not quote a rated flow, Cv or SCFM number. Tell us your application and required air consumption and we will confirm the datasheet flow figures and correct sizing on request before you order.
This configuration is ordered with a manual drain: accumulated water is released by hand as part of routine maintenance. If you prefer not to drain by hand, the same family is available with an automatic drain or the default differential-pressure drain - just ask for the variant code that suits your maintenance routine.
