The AirTAC AirTAC GFR400-15G Filter Regulator 1/2 in, 5 um, Round Gauge is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/2" ports, a differential-pressure drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400-15G is a filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and holds downstream pressure at your setpoint in a single body. This configuration is the 400 size with a G1/2 (BSPP) port, a 5 um filter element, a differential-pressure drain on the PC (polycarbonate) bowl, a round gauge reading in psi, and a built-in reverse/check valve; it is supplied without a mounting bracket. The regulator is the standard type with a 0.15-0.9 MPa (20-130 psi) adjustment range, and the unit is rated to 1.0 MPa (145 psi) maximum inlet, operating from -5 to 70 C, non-freezing.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family spans sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with ports from 1/8 to 1 in, PT as the standard thread and G or NPT as catalogue options, plus 40 um or 5 um filtration, a choice of differential-pressure, automatic or manual drain, and gauge scales in MPa, psi or bar. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so ask us to confirm the datasheet and sizing for your application.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GFR400 | G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 15 | Port size PT1/2". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| (blank) | Drain: Differential-pressure drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)). |
| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| C | Gauge shape: Round. C is round, F is square. |
| 2 | Gauge scale: psi. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| G | G (BSPP) thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| K | Reverse-flow (reflux) valve fitted. |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Feeding clean, regulated air to the gripper and clamp actuators on a beverage bottling line, with the 5 um element protecting the downstream valves from fine contamination.
Conditioning the supply to tool-clamp and air-blast chip-clearing circuits on a CNC machining cell, holding a steady setpoint as clamps cycle throughout the shift.
Regulating air to the diverter gates and stoppers on a distribution-centre conveyor, with the reverse/check valve helping hold the setpoint against upstream pressure dips.
Step through the 200/300/400/600 sizes to match the port and flow your line needs; the 400 size here carries a 1/2 in port. Choose the drain: differential-pressure (as fitted here), automatic for continuous unattended condensate removal, or manual for periodic blow-down. Filtration is 40 um as standard; the 5 um element in this unit suits finer downstream protection. The round gauge on this unit reads in psi; an embedded square gauge and MPa or bar scales are the alternatives. Thread is G (BSPP) here, with PT as the standard and NPT available as an option, and a mounting bracket can be ordered where this no-bracket version does not suit your panel. Because flow is published as curves rather than one rated number, send us your application and we will confirm sizing against the datasheet before you order.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. The reflux valve permits reverse flow through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
Flow for the GFR400 is published in the AirTAC catalogue as curves, not as a single rated figure, so we do not quote a number here. Send us your application details and we will confirm the datasheet and check the curve against your required flow before you order.
The 40 um element is the GFR standard for general water and particulate removal. The 5 um grade (code W, as fitted to this unit) is the finer option for protecting sensitive downstream components such as precision valves and cylinders. Both grades are available across the GFR range.
