How to choose
Choose the bore for thrust: this 16 mm bore gives 100.5 N theoretical push at 0.5 MPa double acting, with the pull side lower. MD is the standard family where rod rotation is allowed; pick MK if rotation must be prevented. Acting options include double, single push, single pull, double rod and adjustable-stroke - this model is double acting with a 25 mm stroke, inside the bore 16 double-acting limit of 50 mm, and a 20 mm adjustable range on top. Short covers keep the body compact, so avoid specifying an over-long stroke; confirm side-load limits with us. Select the magnet with the S suffix and the port thread PT (default) or G.

Is a magnet included with MDJ16X25-20?
No. The SKU has no trailing S, so this cylinder is supplied without a magnet. Magnetic-switch slots are still provided around the body, and a version with the magnet fitted is available as MDJ16X25-20S if position-detecting switches are needed.
What does the adjustable stroke do in practice?
The -20 in the code adds a 20 mm adjustable range on top of the 25 mm base stroke, so the effective end-of-stroke position can be set anywhere within that extra travel. Remember the multi-mount body uses short covers, so avoid an over-long stroke, and confirm side-load limits and dimensions from the datasheet.
