This MDJ is the adjustable-stroke version of AirTAC's standard MD family: double acting, 6mm bore, 15mm main stroke plus a 10mm adjustable range, with a bumper as the cushion. Running on filtered air at 0.5 MPa, the 6mm bore gives a theoretical push thrust of 14.1 N, well suited to light clamping and positioning work.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The MD family is the standard type in which rod rotation is allowed; where rotation must be prevented, choose the MK no-rotating family. How to choose
Start with bore and thrust: at 0.5 MPa the 6mm bore provides 14.1 N theoretical push and 10.6 N pull, the lightest option in the range. Choose MD if the rod may rotate, or MK no-rotating if it must not. This MDJ is double acting with a 10mm adjustable range added on top of the 15mm main stroke; the MDJ/MKJ adjustable range comes in 10, 20 or 30mm. Double-acting bore 6 strokes run up to 35mm, but the short cover limits very long strokes, so keep the stroke realistic.
