How to choose
The 20 mm bore provides about 157.1 N of theoretical push at 0.5 MPa, suited to short clamps and stops. Choose MK when rod rotation must be prevented and MD when it is acceptable. Acting options are double acting, single-acting push, single-acting pull, double rod and adjustable-stroke; this MKJ is double acting with a 10/20/30 mm adjustable range on top of the base stroke. Keep the base stroke within the bore 20 table (up to 60 mm), and note the short cover: overly long strokes reduce rigidity, which is why a 5 mm stroke suits compact fixtures. Why choose the MKJ20X5-10 instead of a longer-stroke cylinder?
The 5 mm base stroke with a 10 mm adjustable range is made for short, precise advances in compact fixtures. Multi-mount cylinders have a short cover, so an over-long stroke reduces rigidity - a short stroke keeps the no-rotating rod well supported while still delivering the bore 20 thrust of about 157.1 N at 0.5 MPa.
Does the MKJ20X5-10 include a magnet for switches?
No. This SKU has no trailing S in its code, so it is supplied without a magnet. If you need magnetic-switch detection, order the MKJ20X5-10S version instead. As on every AirTAC multi-mount cylinder, switch slots are machined around the body for easy sensor mounting.
