The AirTAC GFR200-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT1/4, 5 um is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/4" ports, a differential-pressure drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The GFR200-08 is an AirTAC GFR-series filter regulator: water and particulate filtration plus pressure regulation combined in a single body. This 200-size unit has a 1/4 in NPT port and carries the W-coded 5 um filter element for finer particle removal than the standard 40 um grade. It is the L-coded low-pressure regulator type, drains by differential pressure through the PC (polycarbonate) bowl, and is supplied without a gauge, without a reverse/check valve and without a mounting bracket. Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi) and the working temperature range is -5 to 70 C, non-freezing.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family spans sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with ports from 1/8 in to 1 in, a choice of differential-pressure, automatic or manual drains, 40 um or 5 um filtration, gauge options and PT, G or NPT threads. We confirm flow and other datasheet figures on request - just ask before ordering.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. The low-pressure type adjusts over a lower band than standard; we confirm the exact figures from the factory datasheet. Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GFR200 | G-series filter regulator, 200 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 08 | Port size PT1/4". This body offers 06 = PT1/8", 08 = PT1/4". |
| (blank) | Drain: Differential-pressure drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)). |
| L | Low-pressure type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| N | No pressure gauge (N). |
| (blank) | Gauge shape: Factory standard. C is round, F is square. |
| (blank) | Gauge scale: Factory standard. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| T | NPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

On a CNC fixture or jig, clean 5 um air and a stable low-pressure setting keep small clamping cylinders and swing clamps acting gently and repeatably, protecting delicate workpieces.
Bench-top test stations and lab apparatus benefit from particulate-free, low-pressure regulated air at a compact 1/4 in connection, with the differential-pressure drain keeping condensate off the experiment.
In a control panel feeding pilot valves, sensors and small actuators, this filter regulator conditions the supply in one body, and the low-pressure type suits circuits set well below full line pressure.
Size and port step up together: 200 with a 1/4 in port suits lighter duty lines, while 300, 400 and 600 carry progressively larger ports and more flow, so match the step to the air demand of the circuit. This unit is already specified with the 5 um (W) element - choose 40 um where coarser, higher-economy filtration is acceptable. Drain is differential-pressure here; automatic or manual drains are available on other codes. Gauge, bracket and reverse/check valve options can be selected on codes that carry them, and thread can be PT (standard), G or NPT. Flow for this family is published as curves rather than a single rating, so ask us to confirm sizing against your application before you order.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as performance curves, not as a single rated figure, so we do not quote a number. Tell us your application and we will confirm the flow and sizing from the datasheet on request before you order.
L marks the low-pressure regulator type rather than the standard version - its exact adjustment range is not published, so we confirm it on request. W marks the 5 um filter element instead of the standard 40 um grade. The code also decodes a 1/4 in NPT port, differential-pressure drain, and no gauge, bracket or reverse valve.
