GFR200-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT1/4, Manual Drain

The AirTAC GFR200-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT1/4, Manual Drain is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/4" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.

About the GFR200-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT1/4, Manual Drain

The AirTAC GFR200-08 is a size-200 filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and sets downstream pressure in a single compact body. This configuration has a 1/4 in NPT port, a manual drain bowl in polycarbonate, a 40 um standard filter element, and an embedded square pressure gauge scaled in MPa. The regulating range is 0.05-0.9 MPa (7-130 psi), and the maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi). Operating temperature is -5 to 70 C (non-freezing).

This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR series is available in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with a choice of PT, G or NPT thread, differential-pressure, automatic or manual drains, a 40 um or 5 um (code W) filter element, square or external round gauges with MPa, psi or bar scales, and a low-pressure type. Flow figures are published as curves rather than a single rating, so we confirm the datasheet for your application on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

Model Code: GFR200-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT1/4, Manual Drain

08Port size PT1/4". This body offers 06 = PT1/8", 08 = PT1/4".
MDrain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)).

FGauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square.
1Gauge scale: MPa. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar.
(blank)Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist.
TNPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT.
(blank)No reverse-flow valve (the default).

Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.

A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Where the GFR200-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT1/4, Manual Drain Is Used

precision_manufacturing

Pneumatic press clamping circuit

Feeds clean, regulated air to a clamping cylinder on a small press or fixture, holding the set pressure while the manual drain lets maintenance clear condensate during scheduled checks.

view_module

Packaging machine air supply

Conditions the air feeding actuators and vacuum generators on a cartoning or wrapping line, with the square MPa gauge giving operators a visible setpoint at the machine.

cable

Control panel actuation

Supplies filtered, regulated air to solenoid valves and small actuators in a machine control cabinet, protecting downstream components from water and particulate carryover.

Is the GFR200-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT1/4, Manual Drain the Right Unit?

Size 200 with a 1/4 in port suits lines where the required flow falls in the smaller GFR band; step up to 300, 400 or 600 if the demand is higher. The manual drain on this unit means an operator opens the bowl drain during checks rather than relying on an automatic or differential-pressure drain - choose automatic if the unit sits where regular manual draining is impractical. The 40 um element is the standard grade; specify code W for 5 um where finer filtration is needed. The square gauge fitted here reads in MPa; psi or bar scales and an external round gauge are order options. Thread is NPT on this code; PT (standard) and G are also available, and the J code means no mounting bracket is supplied.

Because flow is published as curves rather than one rated figure, ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.

Quick checklist

  • ✓ Body size for your peak flow (PT1/4" here)
  • ✓ Element 40 µm or 5 µm
  • ✓ Drain sets the regulating band
  • ✓ Gauge fitted, shape and scale
  • ✓ Thread PT, G (BSPP) or NPT
  • ✓ Oil needed downstream? Use GFC instead

Installation & Maintenance Notes

  • check Mount vertically, bowl down, following the airflow arrow.
  • check One body does the filtering and the regulating — no separate regulator needed.
  • check Keep inlet pressure at or below 1.0 MPa (145 psi).
  • check Adjust only within 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi).
  • check Drain condensate before the bowl fills.
  • check Keep the unit above freezing (-5 to +70 °C, unfreeze).

The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.

GFR200-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT1/4, Manual Drain FAQ

AirTAC publishes GFR flow as curves rather than a single rated figure, so we do not quote a number here. Tell us your line pressure and the air demand of your equipment and we will confirm the sizing from the datasheet on request.

The M in the code GFR20008MJF1T specifies a manual drain: condensate collected in the polycarbonate bowl is released by opening the drain during maintenance checks. If the unit will be mounted where regular draining is impractical, the same size is available with an automatic drain (code A) or the differential-pressure drain (the default when no drain code is given) - ask us for that variant.
