The AirTAC GFR200-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator PT1/4, 5 um, Manual Drain is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/4" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR200-08 is a size-200 filter regulator that removes water and particulate from compressed air and sets downstream pressure in one compact body. This configuration is threaded PT1/4 (1/4 in), carries the fine 5 um filter element (W grade, tighter than the 40 um standard), uses a manual drain you open by hand to empty collected condensate, and is fitted with an embedded square gauge reading in psi. The standard regulator covers an adjustment range of 0.05-0.9 MPa (7-130 psi) with a maximum inlet pressure of 1.0 MPa (145 psi), and the polycarbonate bowl suits operating temperatures of -5 to 70 C (non-freezing).
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR series is available in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with port sizes from 1/8 to 1 in, and with choices of thread (PT standard, G or NPT to order), drain type, filter grade, gauge scale and bracket. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, so ask us to confirm the figures against your application before ordering.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GFR200 | G-series filter regulator, 200 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 08 | Port size PT1/4". This body offers 06 = PT1/8", 08 = PT1/4". |
| M | Drain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)). |
| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| F | Gauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square. |
| 2 | Gauge scale: psi. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| (blank) | PT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Feeds clean, pressure-set air to benchtop analysers and sample-prep equipment, where the 5 um element keeps particulates out of sensitive pneumatic circuits and the psi gauge allows direct setpoint checks.
Filters the shop air feeding clamp cylinders and holds a stable regulated pressure so clamping force stays repeatable part after part, with the square gauge giving the operator a visible setpoint.
Removes water and fine particles ahead of the spray gun and lets the operator dial in the gun supply pressure, protecting finish quality from moisture spots and pressure drift.
Start with the size and port: the 200 series with a 1/4 in PT port suits lighter-duty circuits, and stepping up to 300/400/600 gives larger ports and more flow - size against your air demand, not just the existing thread. Choose the drain type: manual (this model) is emptied by hand and suits accessible mounting points, while automatic or differential-pressure drains suit less accessible installations. Choose the filter grade: 40 um is the standard element, 5 um (this model, code W) protects sensitive components such as precision valves and instruments. Gauge scale (MPa, psi or bar), thread option (PT standard, G or NPT) and bracket are also decodable choices.
One honest note on sizing: flow for this series is published as curves, not a single rated figure, so we do not quote a number here. Send us your application details and we will confirm the sizing and datasheet figures on request before you order.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as curves rather than a single rated figure, so we do not state a number here. Tell us your application and operating pressure and we will confirm the flow and datasheet figures on request so you can size the unit correctly.
The M in the code GFR20008MJF2W specifies a manual drain: you open it by hand to release the condensate collected in the bowl. Choose manual where the unit is mounted accessibly and can be checked as part of a routine; choose automatic or differential-pressure drain versions where the installation is hard to reach. Note that with a manual drain the regulator adjustment range is 0.05-0.9 MPa (7-130 psi).
