The AirTAC GFR20008F2WG AirTAC Filter Regulator G1/4, 5 um is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/4" ports, a differential-pressure drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR20008F2WG is a GFR200-series filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and holds downstream pressure at your setpoint in a single compact body. This configuration carries a G1/4 (BSPP) port, a fine 5 um filter element (the W grade, finer than the 40 um standard), a differential-pressure drain that bleeds condensate automatically as flow passes through, an embedded square gauge reading in psi, and the standard regulator type with an adjustment range of 0.15-0.9 MPa (20-130 psi). Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi) and the working temperature range is -5 to 70 C (non-freezing). The polycarbonate bowl is standard at this size, and a mounting bracket is included.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family spans sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with ports from 1/8 in to 1 in, and is orderable with manual or automatic drains, a 40 um or 5 um element, gauge or no gauge, MPa/psi/bar scales, PT, G or NPT threads, and an optional reverse/check valve. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so ask us to confirm the datasheet and sizing for your application on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GFR200 | G-series filter regulator, 200 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 08 | Port size PT1/4". This body offers 06 = PT1/8", 08 = PT1/4". |
| (blank) | Drain: Differential-pressure drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)). |
| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| (blank) | Mounting bracket included. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| F | Gauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square. |
| 2 | Gauge scale: psi. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| G | G (BSPP) thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

On a bench-mounted pneumatic clamp or small press, the 5 um element keeps sludge and fine rust out of the clamping valve while the regulator holds a steady clamping force setpoint, read directly on the square psi gauge.
Feeding cylinders and grippers on a packaging line, this G1/4 filter regulator protects directional valves from water carryover and keeps actuator speed consistent by holding line pressure stable through shift-long running.
Where a control cabinet or pneumatic panel needs a clean, regulated air branch, the 5 um grade and fine regulation range suit sensitive pilot valves and air-operated instruments mounted downstream.
Start with the port step: size 200 with a 1/4 in port suits lighter branch lines, while GFR300/400/600 cover larger ports and higher air demand - match the size to the flow your circuit needs rather than to the pipe alone. This unit already carries the choices that matter day to day: the 5 um (W) element for finer protection of valves and cylinders, the differential-pressure drain for hands-off condensate bleeding, and the square psi gauge for direct setpoint reading. If you need a coarser 40 um element, a manual or automatic drain, a different gauge scale, or an NPT or PT thread instead of G, those are orderable variants in the same series. A mounting bracket is included. Because AirTAC publishes flow as curves and not as a single rated number, send us your application details and we will confirm sizing against the datasheet before you order.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as curves, not as a single rated number, so we do not quote a l/min or SCFM figure here. Send us your line pressure, downstream demand and acceptable pressure drop, and we will confirm the flow and sizing from the datasheet on request before you order.
In the G-series code, a blank filter position is the 40 um standard element and W selects the finer 5 um grade. The W in GFR20008F2WG means this unit filters to 5 um, which is the usual choice when protecting precision valves, cylinders or instruments. If your circuit only needs coarse water and rust removal, the 40 um version of the same GFR200 size is available as a separate model.
