The AirTAC GFR20008MJC2W AirTAC Filter Regulator PT1/4, 5 um is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/4" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The GFR20008MJC2W is an AirTAC GFR200 series filter regulator: water and particulate filtration plus downstream pressure regulation in a single body. This configuration is a 1/4 in (PT1/4) ported unit with a fine 5 um filter element (code W), a manual drain on the PC bowl, and an external round pressure gauge with a psi scale. The regulator is the standard type with an adjustment range of 0.05-0.9 MPa (7-130 psi), the maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi), and the working temperature range is -5 to 70 C (non-freezing). No mounting bracket is fitted (code J).
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR filter-regulator family is available in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with ports from 1/8 in to 1 in, and with choices of drain type, filter grade (40 um standard, 5 um optional), gauge style and scale, thread (PT standard, G and NPT to order) and bracket. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, so we confirm the datasheet and flow figures for your application on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GFR200 | G-series filter regulator, 200 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 08 | Port size PT1/4". This body offers 06 = PT1/8", 08 = PT1/4". |
| M | Drain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)). |
| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| C | Gauge shape: Round. C is round, F is square. |
| 2 | Gauge scale: psi. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| (blank) | PT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Feeding clean, regulated air to the pneumatic clamps and tool-change cylinders on a machining centre, where the 5 um element protects close-tolerance valves from swarf-laden shop air.
Conditioning the air that drives diverters, pushers and stopper cylinders on a food or carton packaging conveyor, with the manual drain emptied at shift checks.
Supplying filtered, precisely set low-pressure air to bench instruments and test rigs, where the manual drain and 0.05 MPa minimum setting suit controlled, monitored conditions.
Start with the port: this unit is 1/4 in PT, and the GFR family steps up through 300, 400 and 600 sizes to 1 in, so pick the size whose flow curve covers your demand rather than oversizing on guesswork. Drain type is a real choice: manual (this unit, which also widens the regulation range down to 0.05 MPa), automatic for unattended condensate removal, or the default differential-pressure drain. Filter grade is 40 um standard or 5 um (W) where finer particulate protection matters - this unit carries the 5 um element. Gauge options are the embedded square gauge or an external round gauge, with MPa, psi or bar scales; this unit has a round psi gauge. Thread is PT as standard with G (BSPP) and NPT as orderable options, and a bracket can be specified where this unit ships without one (J). Because flow is published as curves and not a single rating, ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as performance curves rather than a single rated figure, so we do not quote a rated flow number. Tell us your application and we will confirm the flow data from the datasheet on request.
The M code fits a manual drain, so condensate is emptied by hand at intervals instead of automatically. On the regulator side, the manual-drain version has an adjustment range of 0.05-0.9 MPa (7-130 psi), wider at the bottom end than the 0.15-0.9 MPa range of the automatic and differential-pressure drain versions.
