GFR20008MJF2G AirTAC Filter Regulator G1/4

The AirTAC GFR20008MJF2G AirTAC Filter Regulator G1/4 is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/4" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.

About the GFR20008MJF2G AirTAC Filter Regulator G1/4

The AirTAC GFR20008MJF2G is a size-200 filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and regulates downstream pressure in one compact body. This configuration is threaded G1/4 (1/4 in), uses a manual drain on the polycarbonate bowl, carries the standard 40 um filter element, and is fitted with an embedded square gauge scaled in psi. The standard regulator covers 0.05-0.9 MPa (7-130 psi), and the maximum working (inlet) pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi). Operating temperature is -5 to 70 C (non-freezing). No mounting bracket is included with this variant.

This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR filter-regulator family spans sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with a choice of port, drain type (manual, automatic or differential-pressure), 40 um or 5 um filtration, gauge style and scale, and PT, G or NPT threads. Flow for this series is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so ask us to confirm the datasheet and sizing for your application.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

JSupplied without bracket.
(blank)Pressure gauge fitted (blank).
FGauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square.
2Gauge scale: psi. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar.
(blank)Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist.
GG (BSPP) thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT.
(blank)No reverse-flow valve (the default).

Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.

Size Class

  • GFR200PT1/8" - PT1/4"
  • GFR300PT1/4" - PT1/2"
  • GFR400PT3/8" - PT1/2"
  • GFR600PT3/4" - PT1"

A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Is the GFR20008MJF2G AirTAC Filter Regulator G1/4 the Right Unit?

Start with the size and port: the GFR family steps through sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600, each with larger ports and higher flow capacity, so match the size to the air demand of the circuit rather than to the pipe alone. This unit is G1/4. Next, choose the drain: manual drain (as fitted here) means an operator drains the bowl, while automatic or differential-pressure drains suit unattended installations. Filter grade is 40 um standard or 5 um (code W) where finer filtration is needed. Gauges are available as the embedded square type or an optional external round type, scaled in MPa, psi or bar; this unit carries a square psi gauge. Threads can be ordered in PT (standard), G or NPT, and a mounting bracket is optional (not fitted on this variant). Flow for the series is published as curves, not a single rating, so ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.

Quick checklist

  • ✓ Body size for your peak flow (PT1/4" here)
  • ✓ Element 40 µm or 5 µm
  • ✓ Drain sets the regulating band
  • ✓ Gauge fitted, shape and scale
  • ✓ Thread PT, G (BSPP) or NPT
  • ✓ Oil needed downstream? Use GFC instead

Installation & Maintenance Notes

  • check Mount vertically, bowl down, following the airflow arrow.
  • check One body does the filtering and the regulating — no separate regulator needed.
  • check Keep inlet pressure at or below 1.0 MPa (145 psi).
  • check Adjust only within 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi).
  • check Drain condensate before the bowl fills.
  • check Keep the unit above freezing (-5 to +70 °C, unfreeze).

The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.

GFR20008MJF2G AirTAC Filter Regulator G1/4 FAQ

AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as curves, not as a single rated figure, so we do not quote a number here. Tell us your application and we will confirm the flow and sizing from the datasheet on request.

The M in the code specifies a manual drain on the bowl: condensate is released by an operator rather than automatically. Manual drain suits attended installations with regular maintenance rounds; automatic or differential-pressure drain variants are available for unattended setups. Note that with a manual drain the regulator adjustment range is 0.05-0.9 MPa (7-130 psi), and the maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi).
