GFR300-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT1/4, 5 um, Manual Drain

The AirTAC GFR300-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT1/4, 5 um, Manual Drain is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/4" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.

About the GFR300-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT1/4, 5 um, Manual Drain

The AirTAC GFR300-08 is a filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and regulates downstream pressure in a single body. This unit is built on the 300 size with a 1/4 in NPT port, carries the W-grade 5 um filter element, and drains by hand through its manual drain. It is the low-pressure regulator type, and the C code fits an external round gauge reading in bar. A reverse/check valve (K) is fitted, and the polycarbonate bowl is supplied without a mounting bracket. Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi) and the working temperature range is -5 to 70 C, non-freezing.

This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family spans sizes 200 to 600 with ports from 1/8 to 1 in, and is ordered with a choice of drain type, 40 um or 5 um filtration, gauge style and scale, PT, G or NPT thread, and bracket or no bracket. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so ask us to confirm the datasheet and sizing for your application before ordering.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. The low-pressure type adjusts over a lower band than standard; we confirm the exact figures from the factory datasheet. Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

Model Code: GFR300-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT1/4, 5 um, Manual Drain

GFR300G-series filter regulator, 300 body — sets the port range.
08Port size PT1/4". This body offers 08 = PT1/4", 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2".
MDrain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)).
LLow-pressure type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type.
JSupplied without bracket.
(blank)Pressure gauge fitted (blank).
CGauge shape: Round. C is round, F is square.
3Gauge scale: bar. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar.
WFiltering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist.
TNPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT.
KReverse-flow (reflux) valve fitted.

Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.

A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Where the GFR300-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT1/4, 5 um, Manual Drain Is Used

valve

Paint spray booths

Filtering and stepping air down to a low, steady pressure for spray guns on a finishing line, with the 5 um element keeping moisture and particles out of the finish.

science

Laboratory air benches

Supplying low-pressure regulated air to bench-top test rigs and pneumatic instruments, where fine 5 um air and a bar-reading gauge keep settings repeatable.

conveyor_belt

Packaging machine actuators

Regulating air to low-pressure cylinders and sealing heads on a packaging conveyor, with the fitted reverse/check valve guarding against backflow in the air line.

Is the GFR300-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT1/4, 5 um, Manual Drain the Right Unit?

Choose the size by port and flow: this 300 unit takes a 1/4 in NPT port, while the smaller 200 and larger 400/600 sizes step the port and flow capacity up or down. Drain type is a real choice - manual (this unit, drained by hand), automatic, or the differential-pressure default - so pick manual where an operator checks the bowl routinely. Filtration is 40 um as standard or 5 um as here (W code) for finer protection. On gauges, an embedded square gauge is standard and an external round gauge optional, with MPa, psi or bar scales - this unit reads bar. Thread is PT as standard with G and NPT as order options, and brackets are optional (this unit has none). Because flow is published as curves, not a single rating, ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.

Quick checklist

  • ✓ Body size for your peak flow (PT1/4" here)
  • ✓ Element 40 µm or 5 µm
  • ✓ Drain sets the regulating band
  • ✓ Gauge fitted, shape and scale
  • ✓ Thread PT, G (BSPP) or NPT
  • ✓ Oil needed downstream? Use GFC instead

Installation & Maintenance Notes

  • check Mount vertically, bowl down, following the airflow arrow.
  • check One body does the filtering and the regulating — no separate regulator needed.
  • check Keep inlet pressure at or below 1.0 MPa (145 psi).
  • check Adjust only within 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi).
  • check Drain condensate before the bowl fills.
  • check Keep the unit above freezing (-5 to +70 °C, unfreeze).

The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. The reflux valve permits reverse flow through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.

GFR300-08 AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT1/4, 5 um, Manual Drain FAQ

AirTAC publishes flow for this series as curves rather than a single rated figure, so we do not quote a number here. Tell us your application and we will confirm the flow and the full datasheet figures on request before you order.

The M code means the bowl is drained by hand, which suits lines where an operator checks the unit routinely; automatic and differential-pressure drains are available in the same series. The W code selects the optional 5 um element instead of the 40 um standard, for finer protection of downstream equipment.
