GFR300-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT3/8 Manual Drain

The AirTAC GFR300-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT3/8 Manual Drain is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT3/8" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.

About the GFR300-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT3/8 Manual Drain

The AirTAC GFR300-10 is a size-300 filter regulator that removes water and particulate from compressed air and sets downstream pressure in a single body. This configuration has a 3/8 in NPT port, the standard 40 um filter element, and a manual drain you open by hand to empty the PC (polycarbonate) bowl. It regulates from 0.05 to 0.9 MPa (7-130 psi), tolerates up to 1.0 MPa (145 psi) inlet, and operates from -5 to 70 C (non-freezing). A built-in reverse/check valve holds the downstream setting if upstream pressure is lost, and this version ships without a gauge or mounting bracket.

This is a genuine AirTAC part from the GFR series, which spans sizes 200 to 600 with ports from 1/8 to 1 inch, optional 5 um (code W) filtration, automatic or differential-pressure drains, gauge choices, and G or NPT thread options. Flow figures for this series are published as curves rather than a single rating, so ask us to confirm sizing or any datasheet figure for your application before ordering.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

10Port size PT3/8". This body offers 08 = PT1/4", 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2".
MDrain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)).
(blank)Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type.
JSupplied without bracket.
NNo pressure gauge (N).
(blank)Gauge shape: Factory standard. C is round, F is square.
(blank)Gauge scale: Factory standard. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar.
(blank)Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist.
TNPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT.
KReverse-flow (reflux) valve fitted.

Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.

A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Is the GFR300-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT3/8 Manual Drain the Right Unit?

Start with the port step: size 300 with a 3/8 in NPT port suits mid-range lines, while sizes 200, 400 and 600 cover smaller and larger flows - match the size to the air demand of the circuit rather than the pipe alone. Choose the drain next: manual (this unit) needs an operator to open the bowl drain, an automatic drain (code A) empties itself, and the differential-pressure default drains only when the pressure drop across the element builds. The standard element is 40 um; specify code W for 5 um where finer filtration matters. Gauge (none on this unit), thread (PT standard, G or NPT to order) and bracket are all selectable across the series. Because flow for the G series is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, send us your air demand and we will confirm the right size against the datasheet before you order.

Quick checklist

  • ✓ Body size for your peak flow (PT3/8" here)
  • ✓ Element 40 µm or 5 µm
  • ✓ Drain sets the regulating band
  • ✓ Gauge fitted, shape and scale
  • ✓ Thread PT, G (BSPP) or NPT
  • ✓ Oil needed downstream? Use GFC instead

Installation & Maintenance Notes

  • check Mount vertically, bowl down, following the airflow arrow.
  • check One body does the filtering and the regulating — no separate regulator needed.
  • check Keep inlet pressure at or below 1.0 MPa (145 psi).
  • check Adjust only within 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi).
  • check Drain condensate before the bowl fills.
  • check Keep the unit above freezing (-5 to +70 °C, unfreeze).

The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. The reflux valve permits reverse flow through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.

GFR300-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT3/8 Manual Drain FAQ

AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as curves, not as a single rated number, so we do not quote a figure here. Tell us your line pressure and air demand and we will confirm the sizing from the datasheet on request.

Manual drain (code M) means someone opens the drain by hand to empty collected water, which suits lines inspected on a fixed schedule. If the unit sits where it cannot be attended regularly, the automatic-drain (A) or differential-pressure versions of the same GFR300 filter regulator are the better choice.
