GFR300-15 AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT1/2 Auto Drain

The AirTAC GFR300-15 AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT1/2 Auto Drain is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/2" ports, a automatic drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.

About the GFR300-15 AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT1/2 Auto Drain

The AirTAC GFR300-15 is a size 300 filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and holds downstream pressure in a single body. This configuration has 1/2 in NPT ports, an automatic drain that ejects collected condensate without manual attention, a 40 um standard filter element, and a round pressure gauge reading in psi. A reverse/check valve is fitted and a mounting bracket is included.

It is a genuine AirTAC part from the GFR range, offered in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with port sizes from 1/8 to 1 in and PT, G or NPT threads to order. Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi) and working temperature is -5 to 70 C, non-freezing. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, so we confirm datasheet figures on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

CGauge shape: Round. C is round, F is square.
2Gauge scale: psi. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar.
(blank)Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist.
TNPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT.
KReverse-flow (reflux) valve fitted.

Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.

A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Where the GFR300-15 AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT1/2 Auto Drain Is Used

precision_manufacturing

Pneumatic stamping press

Clean, regulated air to the press cylinder: the 40 um element strips water and swarf before the valve stack, the regulator holds a steady setting stroke to stroke, and the automatic drain clears condensate between shifts.

build

Paint spray booth supply

Feed spray guns and air-assisted applicators from a single point: particulate and water are removed ahead of the gun, outlet pressure stays where the finish recipe needs it, and the psi round gauge gives operators a visible setpoint.

conveyor_belt

Carton sealing and packaging line

Supply the sealing jaws, grippers and diverters on a packaging conveyor: the filter regulator keeps air dry and pressure stable for consistent jaw action, while the check valve holds the circuit through brief upstream dips.

Is the GFR300-15 AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT1/2 Auto Drain the Right Unit?

Pick the size and port against the flow your line needs: this size 300 unit has 1/2 in NPT ports, with 200, 400 and 600 sizes and PT or G threads available if the application calls for them. Drain choice is automatic (fitted here), manual or differential-pressure; the filter grade is 40 um standard with a 5 um (W) element optional. Gauge scale can be MPa, psi or bar - this unit reads psi on a round gauge - and the fitted reverse/check valve helps hold downstream pressure through supply dips. Flow is published as curves, not a single rating, so ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.

Quick checklist

  • ✓ Body size for your peak flow (PT1/2" here)
  • ✓ Element 40 µm or 5 µm
  • ✓ Drain sets the regulating band
  • ✓ Gauge fitted, shape and scale
  • ✓ Thread PT, G (BSPP) or NPT
  • ✓ Oil needed downstream? Use GFC instead

Installation & Maintenance Notes

  • check Mount vertically, bowl down, following the airflow arrow.
  • check One body does the filtering and the regulating — no separate regulator needed.
  • check Keep inlet pressure at or below 1.0 MPa (145 psi).
  • check Adjust only within 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi).
  • check Drain condensate before the bowl fills.
  • check Keep the unit above freezing (-5 to +70 °C, unfreeze).

The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. The reflux valve permits reverse flow through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.

GFR300-15 AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT1/2 Auto Drain FAQ

AirTAC publishes G-series flow as performance curves rather than a single rated figure, so there is no one l/min or SCFM number we can quote. Send us your application details and we will confirm the sizing against the datasheet curves on request before you order.

The automatic drain on this GFR300-15 ejects collected condensate on its own, which suits unmanned or hard-to-reach installations. A manual drain is emptied by hand, and the differential-pressure type (the default code) discharges when the pressure differential across the element rises. All three are decodable options across the GFR range.
