The AirTAC GFR30008MLC2W AirTAC Filter Regulator PT1/4, 5 um is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/4" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The GFR30008MLC2W is an AirTAC GFR300 filter regulator: filtration and pressure regulation combined in one body. Compressed air passes a 5 um element (the W grade, finer than the 40 um standard) that strips water and particulate before the regulated outlet, so downstream valves and actuators see clean air at a controlled pressure. This unit is the low-pressure type, fitted with a manual drain under the PC (polycarbonate) bowl, an external round gauge reading in psi, and a mounting bracket. The port is PT1/4 (1/4 in PT thread).
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family is published in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with port sizes from 1/8 in to 1 in, and with choices of drain type, filter grade, gauge style and scale, thread (PT standard; G and NPT as order options) and bracket. Maximum working (inlet) pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi) and the working temperature range is -5 to 70 C, non-freezing. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so we confirm the datasheet and sizing figures for your application on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. The low-pressure type adjusts over a lower band than standard; we confirm the exact figures from the factory datasheet. Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |

| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

On an assembly bench running a small air press, this unit filters the shop supply down to 5 um to protect the press valve, then holds the actuator circuit at the reduced pressure the tooling was set up for. The low-pressure type suits circuits that run well below full line pressure, and the psi gauge gives the operator a direct readout.
Gripper and vacuum-egress valves on a robot cell are sensitive to both dirt and pressure drift. Feeding the cell manifold through this filter regulator removes water carryover and particulate at 5 um and gives the cell a stable, locally adjustable supply at its 1/4 in tie-in, with the manual drain emptied at planned maintenance.
Sorting gates, pushers and flap diverters on a packaging conveyor run off short actuator strokes where clean, regulated air keeps cycle behaviour consistent. Mounted at the line drop, this unit conditions the supply before the directional valves; the round psi gauge lets the line technician verify set pressure at a glance.
Start with the size and port: 300 is the mid size step, and this unit carries 1/4 in (PT1/4) ports - step up to 400/600 or down to 200 if your line's flow demand points elsewhere, and match the port to your piping. This configuration is already fixed as: 5 um filtration (choose 40 um standard if your application does not need the finer grade), manual drain (code M - you drain the bowl on a scheduled basis; automatic, code A, and the differential-pressure default are available on other codes), low-pressure regulator type, and a round external gauge scaled in psi (square embedded gauges and MPa/bar scales are the alternatives). Thread is PT as standard; order G (BSPP) or NPT instead if your install requires it, and the bracket is included.
One honest note before you order: AirTAC publishes flow for this family as curves, not as a single rated number, so we do not quote a flow figure here. Send us your application's flow and pressure requirements and we will confirm the correct size against the datasheet curves before you commit.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR family as performance curves rather than a single rated figure, so we do not state a flow number here. Tell us your application's required flow and working pressure and we will confirm the sizing against the datasheet curves on request before you order.
The M in the code specifies a manual drain: the bowl is emptied by hand at a maintenance interval you set. If you would rather not rely on scheduled draining, the same series is available with an automatic drain (code A) or the differential-pressure drain that is the catalogue default - just ask for the corresponding model code.
