GFR30015AF2G AirTAC Filter Regulator G1/2 Auto Drain

The AirTAC GFR30015AF2G AirTAC Filter Regulator G1/2 Auto Drain is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT1/2" ports, a automatic drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.

About the GFR30015AF2G AirTAC Filter Regulator G1/2 Auto Drain

The AirTAC GFR30015AF2G is a filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and sets a stable downstream pressure in a single body. This configuration carries a G1/2 (BSPP) port, an automatic drain that expels collected condensate without manual attention, the standard 40 um filter element, and an embedded square pressure gauge scaled in psi. The standard regulator adjusts from 0.15 to 0.9 MPa (20-130 psi), the maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi), and the polycarbonate bowl suits ambient temperatures from -5 to 70 C (non-freezing). A mounting bracket is included.

This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family is offered in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with a choice of ports, thread types, drains (differential-pressure, automatic or manual), filter grades (40 um standard, 5 um with code W) and gauge scales. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so we confirm the datasheet and sizing figures on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Where the GFR30015AF2G AirTAC Filter Regulator G1/2 Auto Drain Is Used

precision_manufacturing

Pneumatic press station

Conditioning and regulating the supply air feeding a pneumatic press cylinder, so the forming force stays consistent from stroke to stroke while water and swarf are stripped from the shop-air line.

view_module

Packaging machine air supply

A filtered, regulated air drop for carton-sealing and wrapping machinery, where the automatic drain keeps condensate out of valves and actuators on lines that run without an operator at the unit.

factory

Assembly-line actuator headers

Feeding a bank of air cylinders and grippers on an assembly line, with the regulator set to the pressure the tooling was designed for and the 40 um element protecting downstream seals and valves.

Is the GFR30015AF2G AirTAC Filter Regulator G1/2 Auto Drain the Right Unit?

Start with the size and port: the 300 size with a 1/2 in port sits mid-range in the GFR line, and the right step depends on the air demand of the circuit - ask us to check the published flow curves against your application before ordering. Choose the drain to match the installation: automatic drain suits unattended or hard-to-reach positions, manual drain suits supervised points, and differential-pressure drain is the standard default. The 40 um element is the standard grade; specify the 5 um option (code W) where finer particulate removal is needed. The fitted square gauge here reads in psi; MPa and bar scales are available, and an external round gauge is optional. Thread is G (BSPP) on this unit; PT is the standard and G or NPT are order options. A mounting bracket is included.

Quick checklist

  • ✓ Body size for your peak flow (PT1/2" here)
  • ✓ Element 40 µm or 5 µm
  • ✓ Drain sets the regulating band
  • ✓ Gauge fitted, shape and scale
  • ✓ Thread PT, G (BSPP) or NPT
  • ✓ Oil needed downstream? Use GFC instead

Installation & Maintenance Notes

  • check Mount vertically, bowl down, following the airflow arrow.
  • check One body does the filtering and the regulating — no separate regulator needed.
  • check Keep inlet pressure at or below 1.0 MPa (145 psi).
  • check Adjust only within 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi).
  • check Drain condensate before the bowl fills.
  • check Keep the unit above freezing (-5 to +70 °C, unfreeze).

The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.

GFR30015AF2G AirTAC Filter Regulator G1/2 Auto Drain FAQ

AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as curves, not as a single rated figure, so we do not quote a rated flow number. Send us your application's air demand and we will confirm the sizing from the datasheet curves on request.

The automatic drain expels collected condensate from the bowl on its own, which suits installations that are hard to reach or run unattended. The GFR family also offers manual drain and the standard differential-pressure drain, so you can match the drain type to how the unit is serviced.
