GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator, G3/8, Manual Drain

The AirTAC GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator, G3/8, Manual Drain is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT3/8" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.

About the GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator, G3/8, Manual Drain

The AirTAC GFR400-10MJC2GK is a filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and holds a stable downstream pressure in a single body. This configuration has a G3/8 (BSPP) port, a manual-drain polycarbonate bowl, a 40 um filter element, a round external gauge reading in psi, a reverse/check valve, and no mounting bracket. The regulator adjusts from 0.05 to 0.9 MPa (7-130 psi), maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi), and the operating temperature range is -5 to 70 C (non-freezing).

This is a genuine AirTAC part from the GFR400 series. The G-series filter-regulator range spans sizes 200 to 600 with ports from 1/8 to 1 inch, manual, automatic or differential-pressure drains, 40 um standard or 5 um (code W) elements, and gauge scales in MPa, psi or bar. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, so ask us to confirm sizing and datasheet figures for your application.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

Model Code: GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator, G3/8, Manual Drain

GFR400G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range.
10Port size PT3/8". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2".
MDrain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)).
(blank)Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type.
JSupplied without bracket.
(blank)Pressure gauge fitted (blank).
CGauge shape: Round. C is round, F is square.
2Gauge scale: psi. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar.
(blank)Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist.
GG (BSPP) thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT.
KReverse-flow (reflux) valve fitted.

Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.

  • GFR600PT3/4" - PT1"

A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Where the GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator, G3/8, Manual Drain Is Used

precision_manufacturing

CNC machining cell air supply

Feeding clean, regulated air to the tool-clamp, chip-blower and fixture-clamp circuits of a CNC machining centre, with the psi gauge giving the operator a local pressure readout at the machine.

conveyor_belt

Packaging line cylinder control

Conditioning and regulating the air feeding sorting and carton-closing cylinders on a packaging conveyor, where the check valve holds the set pressure during brief upstream dips.

factory

Plant air drop point-of-use

Installed at an air drop on a factory ring main to knock out water and pipe scale and set a stable working pressure for hand tools, air guns and small actuators at the workstation.

Is the GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator, G3/8, Manual Drain the Right Unit?

Size 400 with a 3/8 in port sits mid-range in the G-series flow envelope; step down to size 300 or up to size 600 depending on the air demand of the circuit, and we can check the flow curve against your consumption before you order. The manual drain (code M) needs an operator to open the bowl drain periodically, unlike the automatic (A) or differential-pressure (blank) options on the same size. The 40 um element is the standard grade; specify code W for 5 um where finer filtration is required. The C2 gauge is a round external gauge reading psi, with MPa and bar scales available as alternatives. The thread here is G (BSPP); PT is the standard and NPT is an order option. This unit is supplied without a mounting bracket (code J) and includes a reverse/check valve (code K) to hold downstream pressure if the supply drops.

Quick checklist

  • ✓ Body size for your peak flow (PT3/8" here)
  • ✓ Element 40 µm or 5 µm
  • ✓ Drain sets the regulating band
  • ✓ Gauge fitted, shape and scale
  • ✓ Thread PT, G (BSPP) or NPT
  • ✓ Oil needed downstream? Use GFC instead

Installation & Maintenance Notes

  • check Mount vertically, bowl down, following the airflow arrow.
  • check One body does the filtering and the regulating — no separate regulator needed.
  • check Keep inlet pressure at or below 1.0 MPa (145 psi).
  • check Adjust only within 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi).
  • check Drain condensate before the bowl fills.
  • check Keep the unit above freezing (-5 to +70 °C, unfreeze).

The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. The reflux valve permits reverse flow through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.

GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator, G3/8, Manual Drain FAQ

AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR400 series as curves rather than a single rated figure, so we do not quote a number here. Send us your air consumption and working pressure and we will confirm the flow from the datasheet on request.

Code M in the model means the polycarbonate bowl has a manual drain that an operator opens periodically to discharge collected water. The same GFR400 size is also available with an automatic drain (code A) or a differential-pressure drain (no code), so you can match the drain to how often the site is attended.
