The AirTAC GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator, NPT 3/8 in, Manual Drain is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT3/8" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400-10 is a filter regulator: one body that removes water and particulate from compressed air and then regulates downstream pressure. This size 400 unit has 3/8 in NPT ports, a manual drain bowl in polycarbonate, a standard 40 um filter element, and a round pressure gauge scaled in MPa. A reverse (check) valve is fitted, so downstream pressure is held if the upstream supply drops, and the unit is supplied without a mounting bracket.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family is available in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with a choice of ports, PT/G/NPT threads, differential-pressure, automatic or manual drains, 40 um or 5 um (W) filtration, gauge style and scale, and a reverse-valve option. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, so we confirm the datasheet figures for your application on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GFR400 | G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 10 | Port size PT3/8". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| M | Drain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)). |
| (blank) | Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| J | Supplied without bracket. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| C | Gauge shape: Round. C is round, F is square. |
| 1 | Gauge scale: MPa. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| (blank) | Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| T | NPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| K | Reverse-flow (reflux) valve fitted. |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Clean, regulated air feeding a pneumatic press or clamping fixture, with the check valve holding set pressure at the fixture if the main supply dips mid-cycle.
Conditioning the air that drives packaging-machine cylinders and diverters, where the manual drain suits a line that is blown down at each shift check.
A filter regulator mounted at a plant air drop leg serving several tools or machines, giving one point of water/particulate removal and pressure setting per zone.
Size 400 with 3/8 in ports sits in the upper-middle of the GFR range; step up to 600 or down to 300/200 according to the flow your line needs. The manual drain here means an operator opens the bowl drain during checks - choose the automatic or differential-pressure drain code instead if you want unattended water removal. The 40 um element is the standard grade; specify the W code for 5 um where finer protection matters. The round gauge is scaled in MPa; psi or bar scales and a square embedded gauge are alternatives. This unit is ordered with NPT threads; PT (standard) and G are the other catalogue options. No bracket is fitted with the J code - add the bracket option if you want panel or wall mounting. Because flow is published as curves, not a single rating, ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. The reflux valve permits reverse flow through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes GFR performance as flow curves rather than a single rated figure, so we do not quote a flow number. Tell us your application and we will confirm the datasheet flow data for the GFR400-10 on request before you order.
The M in the code selects a manual drain: condensate is emptied by opening the bowl drain during routine checks, unlike the automatic or differential-pressure drain options. The K code fits a reverse (check) valve, which holds downstream pressure if the upstream supply is lost. Both are order codes - the drain type, gauge scale and valve option can be specified differently on the same GFR400 size.
