GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT3/8

The AirTAC GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT3/8 is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT3/8" ports, a differential-pressure drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.

About the GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT3/8

The AirTAC GFR400-10 is a filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and regulates downstream pressure in a single body. This size 400 unit has a 3/8 in NPT port, the standard 40 um filter element, and a differential-pressure drain that bleeds collected condensate automatically when the pressure differential across the element rises. It regulates from 0.15 to 0.9 MPa (20-130 psi), handles up to 1.0 MPa (145 psi) inlet, and operates from -5 to 70 C in non-freezing conditions. The polycarbonate bowl keeps the fluid level and drain visible, and a reverse/check valve is fitted to hold downstream pressure. Note this configuration has no gauge fitted.

This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family is available in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with port sizes from 1/8 in to 1 in, PT as standard thread and G or NPT as order options, with manual or automatic drain, a 5 um element (code W) and gauge choices where required. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, so ask us to confirm sizing and datasheet figures for your application.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

Model Code: GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT3/8

GFR400G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range.
10Port size PT3/8". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2".
(blank)Drain: Differential-pressure drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)).
(blank)Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type.
JSupplied without bracket.
NNo pressure gauge (N).
(blank)Gauge shape: Factory standard. C is round, F is square.
(blank)Gauge scale: Factory standard. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar.
(blank)Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist.
TNPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT.
KReverse-flow (reflux) valve fitted.

Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.

  • GFR600PT3/4" - PT1"

A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Where the GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT3/8 Is Used

factory

Pneumatic press supply line

Feeding filtered, regulated air to a pneumatic press or forming machine, where the 3/8 in port serves mid-size cylinders and the reverse/check valve holds set pressure if the supply drops.

conveyor_belt

Packaging conveyor actuation

Supplying clean, regulated air to conveyor diverters and packaging-machine actuators, with the differential-pressure drain keeping condensate off the valves during continuous runs.

settings_input_component

Machine-tool air manifold

Conditioning the air feed to a machine-tool manifold that serves clamps and tool-changers, with 40 um filtration protecting directional valves and the regulator holding a stable working pressure.

Is the GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT3/8 the Right Unit?

Start with the port and size: this unit steps up to 3/8 in NPT in the size 400 body, which suits lines moving more air than the 200/300 sizes - match the size step to your required flow. The differential-pressure drain is the default and suits most steady-duty installations; choose automatic drain (code A) for unattended duty or manual drain (code M) where you want controlled purging. The standard element is 40 um; specify 5 um (code W) if downstream equipment needs finer filtration. Gauge, scale and thread options (PT standard, G or NPT) can be ordered to suit; this code omits the gauge and bracket. Because flow is published as curves and not a single rated figure, ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.

Quick checklist

  • ✓ Body size for your peak flow (PT3/8" here)
  • ✓ Element 40 µm or 5 µm
  • ✓ Drain sets the regulating band
  • ✓ Gauge fitted, shape and scale
  • ✓ Thread PT, G (BSPP) or NPT
  • ✓ Oil needed downstream? Use GFC instead

Installation & Maintenance Notes

  • check Mount vertically, bowl down, following the airflow arrow.
  • check One body does the filtering and the regulating — no separate regulator needed.
  • check Keep inlet pressure at or below 1.0 MPa (145 psi).
  • check Adjust only within 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi).
  • check Drain condensate before the bowl fills.
  • check Keep the unit above freezing (-5 to +70 °C, unfreeze).

The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. The reflux valve permits reverse flow through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.

GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT3/8 FAQ

AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR400 series as curves, not as a single rated figure, so we do not quote a number. Tell us your application and we will confirm the relevant flow and datasheet figures on request before you order.

No. The N in GFR40010JNTK means no gauge is fitted. Gauges with embedded square or external round styles and MPa, psi or bar scales can be ordered as options on GFR units - ask us when ordering.
