The AirTAC GFR400-10 AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT3/8 Low-Pressure is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT3/8" ports, a automatic drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400-10 is a filter regulator in a single body: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and then regulates downstream pressure, so one unit does both jobs at the 3/8 in port size. This configuration is fitted with a 5 um filter element (the finer of the two published grades), an automatic drain that ejects collected condensate without manual attention, a low-pressure regulator type, and an external round pressure gauge reading in MPa. The polycarbonate bowl lets you see the condensate level, a mounting bracket is included, and the unit handles a maximum inlet pressure of 1.0 MPa (145 psi) with an operating temperature of -5 to 70 C (non-freezing).
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR series is published in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with port sizes from 1/8 in to 1 in, a choice of automatic, manual or differential-pressure drains, a 40 um standard or 5 um (W) filter element, standard or low-pressure regulation, square or round gauges with MPa, psi or bar scales, and PT, G or NPT threads. Because flow is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, we confirm the datasheet and flow figures for your application on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. The low-pressure type adjusts over a lower band than standard; we confirm the exact figures from the factory datasheet. Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

|---|---|
| 10 | Port size PT3/8". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| A | Drain: Automatic drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)). |
| L | Low-pressure type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| (blank) | Mounting bracket included. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| C | Gauge shape: Round. C is round, F is square. |
| 1 | Gauge scale: MPa. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| T | NPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Fixture clamps and swing cylinders on a CNC machining cell often run at reduced pressure to avoid marking soft workpieces. The GFR400-10 filters the shop air to 5 um, regulates it in the low-pressure range, and its automatic drain keeps condensate out of the clamp circuit at the 3/8 in feed.
A packaging line's local air station feeding seal bars and bag-opening jets needs clean, dry, correctly set pressure. Mounted on the included bracket ahead of the machine's manifold, the GFR400-10's 5 um element protects the valves and its round MPa gauge gives operators a visible setpoint.
Spray guns and low-pressure applicators in a finishing booth are sensitive to dirt and pressure drift. The GFR400-10's fine 5 um filtration and low-pressure regulation suit that feed, while the automatic drain handles the water load from a long 3/8 in drop without daily bowl checks.
Start with the port step: size 400 at 3/8 in sits in the middle of the GFR range (1/8 in to 1 in), so step up to size 600 or down to size 300 if your line size or expected flow differs - and ask us to confirm the flow curve against your demand before ordering, since the catalogue publishes flow as curves rather than a single rating. This unit is already specified with the 5 um (W) element rather than the 40 um standard, the automatic drain rather than manual or differential-pressure, and the low-pressure regulator type rather than standard; if your circuit needs a different drain, grade or regulator type, those are orderable options. The round gauge here reads in MPa; square embedded gauges and psi or bar scales are alternatives. The NPT thread is an orderable option alongside the PT standard and G (BSPP); a mounting bracket is included.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes G-series flow as curves rather than a single rated figure, so we do not quote a rated flow, Cv or SCFM number for this unit. Tell us your application and line conditions and we will confirm the flow figures from the datasheet on request before you order.
Both are decodable from the code: A is the automatic drain, which ejects collected condensate on its own instead of waiting for a manual bowl drain, and W is the 5 um filter grade, one grade finer than the 40 um standard. The unit is also the low-pressure regulator type with a round MPa gauge and NPT thread. If you would rather have the 40 um element, a manual or differential-pressure drain, or a PT or G thread, those are orderable options in the same size.
