GFR400-10G AirTAC Filter Regulator, G3/8, Auto Drain

The AirTAC GFR400-10G AirTAC Filter Regulator, G3/8, Auto Drain is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT3/8" ports, a automatic drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.

About the GFR400-10G AirTAC Filter Regulator, G3/8, Auto Drain

The AirTAC GFR400-10G is a filter regulator: one body that removes water and particulate from compressed air and sets downstream pressure, so a single unit handles two air-preparation jobs. This configuration is the size 400 series with a G3/8 (BSPP) port, an automatic drain that expels collected condensate without manual attention, the standard 40 um filter element, an embedded square gauge reading in psi, and a standard-type regulator with a 0.15-0.9 MPa (20-130 psi) adjustment range. The bowl is polycarbonate, and no mounting bracket or reverse/check valve is fitted.

This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family spans sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with port sizes from 1/8 in to 1 in, and options including manual or differential-pressure drains, a 5 um element (code W), alternative gauge scales in MPa or bar, and NPT or PT threads in place of the G thread fitted here. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, so ask us to confirm the datasheet figures for your application.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

GFR400G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range.
10Port size PT3/8". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2".
ADrain: Automatic drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)).

JSupplied without bracket.
(blank)Pressure gauge fitted (blank).
FGauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square.
2Gauge scale: psi. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar.
(blank)Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist.
GG (BSPP) thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT.
(blank)No reverse-flow valve (the default).

Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.

A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Where the GFR400-10G AirTAC Filter Regulator, G3/8, Auto Drain Is Used

precision_manufacturing

Pneumatic press supply

Feeding filtered, regulated air to a bench or floor pneumatic press, where the automatic drain keeps condensate out of the cylinder and valve stack without an operator stopping to bleed the bowl.

conveyor_belt

Packaging line actuation

Conditioning the air supply to conveyor diverters, clamp cylinders and bagging heads on a packaging line, with the psi gauge giving operators a local setpoint readout at the machine.

factory

Plant air take-off points

Dropping in filtered, regulated air at a 3/8 in take-off on a plant distribution header, supplying multiple downstream tools or sub-boards from one conditioning point.

Is the GFR400-10G AirTAC Filter Regulator, G3/8, Auto Drain the Right Unit?

Start with the port and size step: this unit is size 400 with a G3/8 port, one step up from the 1/4 in size 300, so step up only if your line's flow demand calls for it. The automatic drain on this unit suits unattended or hard-to-reach installations; choose manual drain where you prefer controlled, scheduled blowdown, or the default differential-pressure drain where a pressure drop can trigger purging. The standard 40 um element covers general air preparation; specify the 5 um W-grade element for finer protection. The fitted square gauge reads in psi, and MPa or bar scales are available. Thread is G (BSPP) here, with PT as the standard and NPT orderable. No bracket is fitted on this unit, so plan your mounting accordingly. Flow is published as curves, not a single rating, so ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.

Quick checklist

  • ✓ Body size for your peak flow (PT3/8" here)
  • ✓ Element 40 µm or 5 µm
  • ✓ Drain sets the regulating band
  • ✓ Gauge fitted, shape and scale
  • ✓ Thread PT, G (BSPP) or NPT
  • ✓ Oil needed downstream? Use GFC instead

Installation & Maintenance Notes

  • check Mount vertically, bowl down, following the airflow arrow.
  • check One body does the filtering and the regulating — no separate regulator needed.
  • check Keep inlet pressure at or below 1.0 MPa (145 psi).
  • check Adjust only within 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi).
  • check Drain condensate before the bowl fills.
  • check Keep the unit above freezing (-5 to +70 °C, unfreeze).

The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.

GFR400-10G AirTAC Filter Regulator, G3/8, Auto Drain FAQ

AirTAC publishes flow for this series as curves rather than a single rated figure, so we do not quote a rated flow, Cv or SCFM number. Tell us your application and line conditions and we will confirm the relevant datasheet flow figures on request before you order.

This configuration carries drain code A, an automatic drain that discharges collected condensate from the bowl without manual attention. The GFR series is also available with a manual drain or the default differential-pressure drain, and the standard filter element is 40 um with a finer 5 um element (code W) as an option.
