The AirTAC GFR400-10T AirTAC Filter Regulator 3/8 in NPT, 5 um is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 5 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has PT3/8" ports, a manual drain and regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400-10T is a filter regulator: one body that removes water and particulate from compressed air and then regulates downstream pressure. This size 400 unit is fitted with a 3/8 in NPT port, a fine 5 um filter element (code W), a manual drain on the PC bowl, and the low-pressure regulator type. The embedded square gauge is included with a bar scale, a mounting bracket is supplied, and no reverse/check valve is fitted.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR filter-regulator family is published in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600, with port options, drain choices (differential-pressure, automatic or manual), 40 um standard or 5 um fine filtration, gauge scale options, and PT, G or NPT threads. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, so ask us to confirm the datasheet figures for your application on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. The low-pressure type adjusts over a lower band than standard; we confirm the exact figures from the factory datasheet. Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GFR400 | G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 10 | Port size PT3/8". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| M | Drain: Manual drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.05 - 0.9 MPa (7 - 130 psi)). |
| L | Low-pressure type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type. |
| (blank) | Mounting bracket included. |
| (blank) | Pressure gauge fitted (blank). |
| F | Gauge shape: Square. C is round, F is square. |
| 3 | Gauge scale: bar. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| T | NPT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
| (blank) | No reverse-flow valve (the default). |
Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Fitted at the air inlet of a CNC machining cell, this filter regulator cleans water and particles out of the shop air line and holds a steady regulated supply to tool changers, chucks and clamping actuators, with the bar-scale square gauge letting operators check setpoints at a glance.
Mounted ahead of the pneumatic cylinders on a carton-sealing or case-packing conveyor, the 5 um element protects directional valves from particulate while the regulator keeps actuator pressure stable through shift-long cycling, and the manual drain lets maintenance empty the bowl during planned stops.
Installed on the air feed to a robot gripper circuit, this low-pressure type filter regulator conditions the supply and regulates it down to the level the gripper valves need, with the included bracket allowing panel mounting next to the valve manifold.
Start with the size and port: 200/300/400/600 step up in port and flow capacity, and this unit is the 400 size with a 3/8 in NPT port. Choose the drain to match maintenance: manual (as here) drains on demand, automatic drains continuously, and differential-pressure drains only when the element loads up. Choose 40 um for general air preparation or 5 um (W) where finer protection matters, as on this unit. Gauge scale is selectable (MPa, psi or bar; this unit is bar), and the thread can be ordered as PT (standard), G (BSPP) or NPT. A bracket is included; on GR-family units the J code deletes it.
One honest routing note: AirTAC publishes flow as curves, not a single rated figure, so we cannot quote a rated flow number. Send us your application and we will confirm sizing against the datasheet curves before you order.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as curves, not as a single rated figure, so we do not quote a rated flow number, Cv or SCFM. Tell us your application and required flow, and we will confirm the sizing against the datasheet curves on request before you order.
The M in the code specifies a manual drain: an operator opens the bowl drain to discharge collected water and contaminants, which suits planned-maintenance routines. The GFR family also offers an automatic drain (code A) that drains continuously, and a differential-pressure drain (blank code) that drains when the element loads up. The drain choice also affects the published regulator adjustment range, so pick it deliberately when ordering.
